I owned an original stock Aussie R32 GTR which I had in the mid to late 90s.

The car ran 13.1 sec in absolutely standard trim.

I replaced the exhaust, upgraded the intercooler and edited the factory ECU, cost about $6K. The car could run high 11s all day. Ran 1:08s around Wakefield and never got beaten on the street (maybe I was lucky)... Straight line around corners, wet or dry. Torque down low was gut wrenching when you stepped off the clutch at 7000 rpm!!... I soon broke the garbox and done the clutch. It was the most fun car I have ever had but could not park it anywhere ...

But there is no way a GTR would do a 10s pass for this money unless you NOS it up big time and try your luck...

:w00t2:

most honest post yet...

so ok, to end the saga I will concede that it cant be done for 5k but you see my point yeah? that fact that a full weight GTR can do 8.9 on STREET tyres says it all. Show me a xr6t that can do that

ANYONE notice that we are WAY off topic here???

now, whered that f***n evo go....????

I don’t know anyone that drives a Ford turbo that can do this;

Hey Brian,

I have done this a couple times if you classify a 11.4 as a low 11sec pass. I driove it to WSID and home on the same setup and tyres. I'm sure there are a few other guys on the forum eg. blueboost who have done this ...

I only once had to trailer it home with broken CV....

I know that street racing is illegal and we do not condone that sort of behaviour in anyway do we?????????????????????????????????????

but think about this... how many races do you get where you line up the guy next to you at a red set of lights and you get to go for it????????? FARK ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

at least most of mine have been on the roll while cruising along and someone pulling up beside next to me wanting a go....... there goes the launch advantage!!!

why do people all jsut talk about the launch and take off?? that's what the drags are for... you just wont get that on the road except ones in a blue moon!!

if we lived in a world where all runs were from a set of red lights then all comments would be justified...... im just glad I live in the world where that just doesnt happen

moral of the story?????????? well you figure it out :w00t2:

I thought your 11.4 was on MT's, not your normal Dunlop street tyres.

I thought around 11.8 was the quickest on factory type street tyres, and usually tyres pressures are well down to try to get some traction.

go race a gtr up a mountain road see who wins? go race a GTR with $10k mods in roll on race down the hwy see who wins? hell, take your 10k and mod your xr6t and see if you can beat it ANYWHERE...

10k in mods on a GTR gets you a 350+kw at the tyres, variable torque 4wd car that weighs 1500kg... do the math dude...

the GTR is a far better PEFORMANCE car in all respects, go drive one and you will want one... even if you hate jap cars, you will still want one
