Well we found the cause at long last! It was from the cross over pipe - a little bullet sized aluminium dag had come away and went through the turbo & into the intercooler (where it was found) Typical Ford problem again!! :roflmbo:

$1100 to fix the turbo (all new inside) that's not including labour

we think this may have caused the problem

I had one turbo let go at 80000k (just out of warranty). I approached Ford through the dealer who agreed to replace it under warranty-I was quiet surprised!! Now after 3 months the new turbo has let go. Bearing problems not blades as happened to yours. Have taken it back to the dealer today and await their response.

just out of curiosity when was it last serviced?

part of the service on all turbo vehicles is to remove the piping and inspect them, turbo fins etc and tighten inlet and exhaust manifold bolts....it's in the service book. I do it every service at work anyways...work at a dealership..

Like KW CONNER mentioned, is there anything we can look for on the inside of the crossover unit to see if we need to get ours blasted or something?

Cheers.
