What sort of injectors would I need that will be happy around the 260rwkw range? Do F6 injectors flow more then the XR6T injectors?

Would a trans oil cooler be enough to keep the auto happy?

I do no drive my cars hard. No burnouts etc. I just want something that is reliable and have a bit of go. I am not sure what you guys do to destroy so many transmissions but I highly doubt that my driving style would kill them so fast. :bum:

Bosch 968 injectors or Nizpro injectors would easily do what you require. F6 injectors are the same as XR6T.

A trans cooler is a must and if it was me I'd get something done to the auto, at least increase the line pressures with edit as part of the tuning.

I had 255rwkws and ran a 12.7@110mph, 2.0sec 60 foot, this is in a auto ute with bosch 868 injectors and the edit, on street tyres @22lbs

Yep Edit, injectors and springs gave me 250rwkw and a 12.8 @113mph with a crap 60ft of around 2.3sec. Stock dunlops @ around 24lbs.

At that power level my auto is still ok after some 40k with the help of a cooler, firmer shifts via edit and a shift kit (which gives instant shifts) which I only use if really giving it what for.

Cheers for all the info.

I love the utes but never considered them because for some reason I always thought that they were so much worse then the sedan, due to the etra weight.

Anyhow since moving into my new house I have been borrowing the old mans ute every weekend and I can not see it would be a lot more practical to have my own ute. Plus might as well kill two birds with one stone and buy a Turbo ute and have some fun with it too. Currently the Fairmont spends all weekdays in the garage collecting dust while we take the soon to be replace Fiesta to work.

Soemone mentioned getting a better cat to reduce bottom end strain. What is a decent cat that will bolt on to the stock turbo exhaust and how much??

Now to find a Blood Orange auto ute with leather :spoton:

good to see your thinking of getting into a turbo mate!!

a cat will also reduce the pressure on the valve springs so they should hold to that power level :roflmbo:

it will be hard to find a cat that will bolt straight on to the stock exhaust as the stock cat is single in-twin out.

There are heaps of cats you can put in, try one of the site sponsors to get an idea on what would be best for you, you will have to get it welded in but that's not a big job, the workshop will do that for you as well
