Great Service is something of the past with ford if you are a 23+ driver looking to test drive your dream car. I was knocked back several times or told to put a car on order with out even test driving it. I rang up a ford rep in Melbourne and he organised me a test drive within 3 hours. Which was fantastic in it's self but he acctually had some product knowledge as well. Too good you may say that is what I thought but seriously he has helped me get a factory build car on order and hopefully a quick delivery which is a bonus he has also helped a couple of my mates get a car in a week which was a fantastic (Luck BAST@RDS) , If any of you guys wanna check him out his name is Lucas on (03) 8645 6000 top guy if you let him know Chris with the Mecuray XR6 Turbo on order with the plates IMTRBO he will help you out ...

Good stuff.. good to see some dealers giving a helping hand..

Must say as well for those in Victoria looking for a vehicle, Craig Waller @ Westpoint Ford has been absolutely fantastic as most of our members know!

Also for guys in NSW, the guys at City Ford in Sydney have been exceptional especially Michael Humphries, Simon Hunt and Chris Davis. The guys are fantastic

Even though they are our site sponsors, I personally believe that their service has been outstanding on many occassions.

had no problems getting a test drive from Dale Ford in Bansktown, the guy was great, he has heaps of product knowledge and didn't think twice about letting me go for a cruise straight away.

and let me see did you buy it from him coz he took you seriously what is it with some of fords dealers at the moment I think they should remove the poll from some of there arses. Ok you got a great car but the major market who want em are 23+ doesnt necisarrly mean they can afford em but why burn a bridge ...... I dont know about some of these guys......

Its good to see that some dealers are doing their job, not got their heads up their butts.

I have had nothing but great service from the guys at Lane Ford in Mandurah, Darryl is the man to see, Trevor the Sales Manager, top bloke, what other Sales Manager can you name who just throws XR8 keys at you and say's "Don't hurt it"?

Lane's have got a white GT on order as a demo B) .

I've also heard that a 350kw GTHO is definately going to see the light of day, soon, don't know price......yet

I actually ordered mine prior to the test drive but a drive was offered early in the negotiations. The bloke in NT where I ordered mine (Jimmy?) needed prodding, I told him all the options I wanted then asked him for a price, then I had to repeat myself so he could actually write them down this time....Still worked in my favour, he muffed up the price of the roof racks and I got them for a discount! Once he realized I was serious he soon got enthusiastic. Had troubles getting out of him what Premium brakes actually were " Oh, they're better than the standard brakes...." I may have even gone with the brembo's ( had an EFII XR6 and the brakes were appalling) If I'd felt he knew more about what he was talking about. During the drive he seemed really keen to keep turning up the stereo, (hiding the road noise??) Still, he did OK, sold me one in the end.......Starting to forget just how well it went.... Two more weeks to wait for delivery... Anybody want to buy a series2 jag?

Sixfan,

What road noise... All you can hear is the thoaty exhaust, Turbo spool up and the nice note from the big six up front... You will see when you get it.. B)

Anyway...

I purchased mine from SUNFORD in Sunbury vic.. More than happy with their dealings. I knew more than they did but I tend to research stuff VERY well.. I did not expect them to know more than me (apart from unpublished stuff of course.) Got a great deal (fleet). More than happy with the service people. Know me by name.. All in all I would give then a 9.5 out of 10...

Hey sixfan - where in the NT r u? There are a few of us thinking about a run to Katherine soon.

I got mine at Frost Ford in Darwin. I started by test driving an XT and then asked about the turbo - the salesman had to ask the owner if I could take it out and explained that a lot of hoons take them out and do burnouts and stuff. Anyway he was very helpful and knowledgeable about the car. I went back the next week and he took my wife out for a test drive as well.

Then we ordered it and he left but the guy who took over, Dane was great as well. The follow up after delivery has been great too. Phone calls to see how it is going.

cheers

Stevo,

How RU?, I'm out at Brocks creek at the moment (working) but go on my breaks to Darwin or Katherine and if you can hold off for two weeks I'll join you for a run! Dane's the bloke handeling my car now (it's having the premium brakes fitted at the moment) but I've also spent a lot of time talking to Ray Wilson. I didn't research much, I read an article in a newspaper (In Kalgoorlie) and thought I'd like one. The stereo thing annoyed me as I don't much listen to music when I drive ( all the cars I've ever had have been throaty sixes....) and I wanted to hear the car. It was good not to have the pressure sell, I guess they don't need to, these cars sell themselves.

I thinks that's the hardest thing when buyng a car..finding the right sales guy/gal taht takes the time out and appreciates your interest and time taken to come in and have alook at a new BA.

I went to several dealers myself and got the shoulder a little, I took my wife with me the next weekend and boy, did the atitude change, service was a lot better than when I went in there and I even got to test drive a XR6T, what a difference it makes when your wife comes with you.
