Hey guys,

I have done some searching through all the various threads on here and all the audio manafacture sites but want to get the consolidated opinions of people here.

  • What splits have you used in the front stage of your BA/BF?[/
  • How easily did they fit ?(Both Woofer and Tweeter), Mounting depth etc..

I'd prefer an easy replacement of the factory ones that's why I am looking at component 5x7 sets.

I'm past the stage in my life where I have the time to make MDF spaces and Fibreglass A Pillar mounts etc. :crybaby::blink:

Thanks!

:pooh::blush::msm:

Thanks Shock, I actualy went to buy the Type S's but the guy didn't have them in stock and he asked what they were for. I told him they were for a BA and he said they have to space them 10mm out to mak them fit (due to mounting depth issues)

Did the Type R's fit in the factory spots without any modification?

I'va also been told that the Alpine 6" type R splits will fit in the fronts because they come with brackets.... I'm looking at getting these and 6" Type R coaxials for rear fill...

yeh they drop right in no probs. type s are a bit cheeper speaker in saying that if youre just running them off the factory amp they will be fine, I went the type r's as I have a alpine pdx amp running these speakers which is running off the v-hub pro, prob depends on how loud you would like to have it to.

I have 2 typr r subs running off the Alpine 1000wrms amp (cant think of the name). My speakers type r splits and type r coax's will be running off a MRP F240 4 channel amp... all this through an LC6.... whatta reckon the sound will be like? I had the setup in the old car minus the type r speakers... I use to have 6" type s coax and 6" DD Linear splits and it was awsome... but that was through a head unit... I hop I get the same results through the LC6

Thanks.

I was also thinking of spilts, focal or Alpine. Focal sound amazing and although not cheap the Focal Beryllium Utopia are awesome if you want the best.
