I was marginally beaten by a M3 that looked pretty darn new. He got me in 1st as I didn' think he was going to lauch it. I have 190rwkw's (14.2 sec no flat shifting) and had a passenger... he was by himself. I didn't flat shift either which makes a decent difference in my car.

With these vehicles you need to have activated the M button to get it's full power, on normal mode it's in the high 200kw zone and with the m button it has 373kw, so it;s makes a huge difference to power

The M5 is 373Kw and NOT a POS.

If he knows how to use the launch control he could get a 12.7 1/4

280rwkw will not be enough.

Zap,

If the M5 uses launch control he has a very good chance of going home on a flatbed.

Regards,

aa

ive run a 911 turbo... one with the wing thingo popping up... I had 300 rwkw (manual) and he got done.. his passenger was egging me on on the freeway and I finally gave in.. thought I would get chopped but I didnt.

at the same token I have been hammered by a little GSR :fool: I thought I would win and didnt....

you never know who has what and how it will end up!!

that's so true mate, anything can be made to go fast.

for the people who "feel" great about chopping a 200k car... how do you think the guy in the 180b with 15k spent on the motor feels when he chops a T??? sure he probably brags his ass off, but would you care? seriously, I know I'd rather be driving a 200k+ car then a T if it was affordable. Don't get me wrong, I love the T.. but don't go thinking people in M5s, or even 500k cars really worry or a give a rats ass that a 45k car beat them.. at the end of the day, they're the ones with the expensive car. Who really cares :fool: My mate used to own a dato 1600 that would give most mildly modded Ts a run.. but I know what I'd rather drive.. the T.. just cause a cheaper car flogs them, doesn't mean they feel embarrassed or ashamed of owning a 200k car.

True - although not sure that's what this thread is all about - I dont imagine these guys spend 200k+ on a sports car then drive ( read strut ) around looking for a run to test it out without being a little bit cocky... I guess if they get "flogged" by a cheaper car its a bit of a leveller (a long way from being 'embarrassed or ashamed' ) - as it would be for us in our 'T's getting left behind by the 180b if we were asking for it!!

At the end of the day its all about the common denominator - performance cars - regardless of whether it is the driver of the Porsche, a modded 'T' or a quick 180b, there is obviously a healthy interest, understanding and respect for a motor vehicle that performs.

Let's not forget what we drive, quick family saloons that go allright in a straightline. They are not and I repeat not , true sports cars. Equal drivers around a circuit and the pedigree will show itself. We drive very raw and crude animals in comparison. Fun though aint it :spoton:
