If it aint out of warranty take it back even if the amp is fitted if that aint the problem Fraud should fix it

Best of luck

(sorry can not remember what the prob was) I had a 2002 2004 XR6T that used to stall the dealer sorted it out do not know what the drama was used to be under fairly heavy braking and it would shut down

hey recently my xr6t ute cuts out on idle every so often. I have recently installed a sub and amp could that be takin 2 much battery causing the idle drop out thanks.

Hey Mattty, mine was doing the same thing.

I was using Boost98 fuel from United for a few months and it ran really well, but always had the minor issue of idling too low sometimes and would occasionally cut out. I didn't think much of it as

I thought it was a dirty throttle body. Anyway, changed back to BP Ultimate98, and the problem went away totally....hmmmmm I thought, wonder if it was the fuel.

Sunday I went back to Boost98 from United again cos of the price, and guess what?? The cutting out started again.

What fuel are you using now and what were you using?

Try BP Ultimate.

I'll be still using the Boost98 on long trips though, it's 10c/ltr cheaper.

I had a similar issue, on cold start up the car would idle extremely rough and when I accelerated for the first time the car would loose all power and revs would go down to about 500rpm as if it was going to stall and then behave perfectly. As the car is under warranty I took it to ford who said they "cleaned" the throttle body when I got home I inspected it myself and it was still pretty dirty behind the butterfly (lazy buggers) anyway I cleaned it again and the issue went away.

On the topic of fuels I first used Caltex premium the car felt very sluggish and I got about 330km to a full tank swapped to BP ultimate and now the car has a lot more response and I get around 420kms off a tank (but maybe my initial turbo excitement wore off :stirthepot:)
