Actually the news is a bit incorrect. A While ago if you may have read, a Black XR6T was stolen from City Ford in Sydney. Police yesterday recovered the vehicle in a chase, the Stolen Black XR6T was chased by Police, and they smashed the XR6T into a WRX to try and get away.

The driver of the XR6T fled...

I saw the car yesterday, It is in pretty bad shape. The whole back of the car is completely smashed, and the chassis bent.. Both back rims are completely bent on the rear shaft both at 90 degree angles.

I will see if i can get some shots today..

I have a Ford Alarm on my T.

I would have preferred that it came with the keypad & anti-hijacking feature that is now standard with the WRX. Subaru have been retrofitting them back to 2000 models to try to improve security.

I really hope the theft of the XR6T is not the start of a trend, as has been the case with the WRX.

For our own safety (and everyone else), and secondly our premiums will probably jump by $1000 a year before we know it, especially in Sydney.

When my Ford was delivered my alarm was configured so that the open door function opened all 4 doors.

The sales manager noticed this and then reconfigured it so that one press opens only the drivers door, and then another press opens the other 3 doors.... I was much happier with that set-up for safety reasons.

Also, we should try to get into the habit of locking all 4 doors once inside the car... not that I always remember to do so.

The day I picked my car up, the cops were at the dealer investigating how a xr6turbo was stolen while being serviced. Apparently they read the rego number and walked into the key box and took the keys and drove off. I'm just wondering if I should take the car there for my services.

I've been locking my doors after I get in the car ever since I got my last car (an EL Falcon in 2000). With Fords this is no hastle either as when you pull an interior door handle it unlocks the door for you.

The process for changing from one stage unlock to two stage unlock (ie. unlocking all 4 doors at once, or the drivers door with one press, then the other doors with a second press) is in the manual. It is a very simple process. All you do is hold both the lock and unlock buttons down simultaneously on the keypad until the indicators flash. You can even program one keypad to be one stage unlock and another keypad to be two stage unlock.
