XR6T8080 Member 398 Member For: 18y 2m 14d Gender: Male Posted 18/06/07 10:47 AM Share Posted 18/06/07 10:47 AM You can insure the car in your dads name, and say your a nominated driver, say 10% of the time, you will pay more but you WILL be insured no matter what which 10% of the driving you do, nobody will know.I know this for a fact as a close relation wrote off a car, and they were in the 10%, no problems with the payout, and that was with a really dodgy insurer, nobody had heard of. took a few weeks, but the claim was paid in full.hello everyone, I havent had my T very long and im in a little bit of trouble, when I bought it I was under the impression that I would be able to get the car insured in my dads name therefor keeping the costs down, but I found out that when im driving the car the insurance becoms void, so if I crashed I would have been screwed Anyway I'm looking now for an insurance company that will insure me and wont cost me an arm and a leg, I got quoted by just car and they want 2,140$ a year which is really steep for me as I'm not on a major amount of money..can anyone help me with this at all? if I cant get my car insured I'm going to have to sell it which is something I really really dont want to do!
