Didn't think it was a concern as it is controlled by medication and not considered serious. Afterall insurance companies only quiz you on your driving history and the car involved which in this case was a bog stock crapadore. Earlier in the year, she had gastro which caused her medication to be in effective and she had another siezure at the wheel and put the car into a shop front and collected a few cars on the way, all up over $100000 in damage and the car insurance is now not covering as they discovered the cause of the accident was a siezure and that they didn't disclose it as a pre existing medical condition. Think again when not disclosing modifications to your car, especially if they are obvious ones such as lowering and the like. If they can screw you on things you would expect to have to disclose, just think what they will do on those you know you need to.

TOSKA Member 29 Member For: 17y 7m 21d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 06/06/07 03:50 AM Share Posted 06/06/07 03:50 AM Hi Peoples.Just reading through some of your replies RE Insurance. If your under 25, make sure you disclose (inform) correctly to the Insurer. If they ask, has the vehicle been modified (and it has) tell them. Price may go up but at least you have told them. Last thing you want is them knocking back a claim because you have not disclosed the correct information. It is more than likely if you have a serious or large claim amount on your vehicle, the claim will more than likely be investigated speaking generally. This basically means someone will look over the car (assesor who works for the Insurance company). If he sees you have upgraded the turbo, put a CAPA edit in it, sports exhaust etc and have not let the Insurer know, they are able to deny payment of claim due to....wait for it...NON disclosure. With young guys especially. The XR6T is classed as a high performance vehicle so you will always have to pay more than a standard vehicle as far as Insurance goes.I think $2,000 isnt a bad price for an 18 year old assuming you have never owned a car previously and have stepped into a $25,000 car. Always look for your excess structures aswell as you will often find age & inexperience excesses. For example (Basic $500 + age (under 25 $600 + (inexperience (held licence less than 2 years $1000). You dont want a basic excess of $2,000 + the extras.Hope this helps to some degree and I havent scared anyone off.
