NO! hey goldie, if your still reading this, does your car with the cooler thermostat stay at the lower temp when your not on the M1? lets say your drivng down the gold coast hwy in traffic, what temp does she run then?so, just regular driving thru town etc, even with a cooler thermostat, the car wont run cooler because its pretty much at the stock cooling systems limit capacity the whole time.With folk down south, im sure this wouldnt be the case and you would get some benefit esp in winter or at night.ive done some reading and found some interesting things on this subject. if you decrease the waterjacket temperature by 10 degrees, it lowers the RON requirement by 2. I was surprised that it was so significant! I also found that car manufacturers have increased the thermostat temps and running temps deliberately in an effort to reduce emmissions and meet standards! bad luck for turbos hey?
