Hi Greg,

try this site here, http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=38

I just got the power for the unit from the lighter power source and then used a plastic box from dick smith yo out the unit in. I'll see how I go for a photo but I have hidden the unit under the dash.

I`m getting a little confused. the circuit (from france) shows a 9 pin plug but all the threads I have read includng the ford mods one show a 15 pin plug. What did you use?

9 pin is fine. I'm assuming the converter tells you what signals go to which pin?

The 15 pin plug is used when connecting straight to a PC or laptop with no converter in place.

The video converter I'm using comes with a cable with a 9 pin plug at one end and bare wires at the other. I just soldered up the connector for the ICC to the bare ends.

Yeah Mate, have you got your parcel yet?

Find my wiring diagram below.. The switch I used is a double poll unit so you can operate both the power from the lighter and the video from the flick of the switch :)

Hey mate, can I ask what the converter is for as it's from compisite (Yellow RCA) input and the output comes as a harness

Philips CM8833-II

Philips CM8833-II has quite similar specs to the monitor above (used in the same type of applications). Philips CM8833-II has a RGB connector which can accept both analogue and digital RGB signal. The RGB connector uses the following pinout:

_____________

\ 5 4 3 2 1 /

\_9_8_7_6_/

-Pin- -RGB TTL- -RGB Analogue-

1 Ground Ground

2 Ground Ground

3 Red Red

4 Green Green

5 Blue Blue

6 Intensity Fast Blanking

7 Not used Composite Sync

8 H. Sync H. Sync

9 V. Sync V. Sync

does this board from france come with a harness?

I want to be able to connect my dvd player into this board via the video in rca jack and im guessing I needed to make the cable out of it to the the ICC.

the dvd player has the usual video, audio l&r rca plugs. I would send the audio plugs to the aux in and the video to this board. out of the board and into the ICC.. have I got this right or have I got it wrong?

do I have the wires wrong on the plug so far? as im confused about the sync and ground.

cheers Greg

Spot on mate, the harnes that comes with the converter has leads that are about 30-45cm long with the 5 wires so just get your self and plug from a wrecker and plug her in :)

well I`ll be buggered. I have the 10 pin EF-el plug already wired up to about a metre of shielded cable and 3 of the five wires already soldered to the 9 pin com plug on the other.

I `spose that's what you get for being too organsied.

Wish this bloody postie would hurry up and get his ass here from france.

cheers, thanks for all the help.

in my idle time (waiting) I have been devising a way to add a reverse camera and also a front spoiler camera to this system. I think I have it nutted.

btw what size project box do I need?
