Hey guys,

How many of yous use a line level converter to add aftermarket amps to your systems?

this probably refers more to the guys without the premium setup..

Just want to know some opinions whether or not they produce good quality sound, or some other options for adding amps

Cheers

Cameron

In my experience with LLC's you are always better off to grab the signal before you amplify it. The ICC amplifier is quite dirty but the line level signal that the ICC generates is a good flat signal. its only downfall is the low peak to peak output.

its not too hard to modify the ICC to give you line level out.

you can pay someone like ASL to do it for you or if your good with a soldering iron you can have a crack at it yourself as I have done.

Cheers

Troy

I have done it using an Alpine LLC and let me tell you it sounded like SH*T.... I would recomend against it unless you do what Shockf6 suggests, but if u tap into the rear speaker wires as I did the results are shocking. Their are different opinions though....

Save yourself the trouble and go out and buy a AudioControl LC6... Im getting mine installed soon and I picked it up for $240

I have found that the stinger line level converter is the best on the market.

I have used most of them. the stinger one is powered and added around 15db over the jaycar ones I had in there.

I also tired the alpine ones which were o.k as well...

but if you can get them go the stinger ones

I think the stinger is a boosted one as it is powered so I think it is amped somehow...

I dont know alot about this stuff but they db dragged my setup back to back at the audio shop and there was about 15db diff with the stinger unit. but you would have to remember the jaycar one I was running is not the best unit to start with

Cool, does the LC6 render the sound some how or is it a boosted LLC.

you have to add amps after the LC6 , it converts the sound from the oem deck to a good quality low noise pre amp signal. it also has seperate output level controls.
