That's like buying a Made In Australia T-shirt with a Made In China tag on it...

(er hang on that counts for both scenarios...)

But who am I to stand in the way of a good propaganda speal.... :roflmbo:

But they are made buy ford, not friggin' daewoo and then rebadged.

It's global car market, expecting one country to do everything is long gone, like it or not.

In the latest Wheels magazine, they note that Expensive Daewoo states that they avoided marketing their Euro and now Korean cars as such becuse '...aparently,...many people still beleive that, it if wears a Expensive Daewoo badge it must be built here."

It goes on to say that it Expensive Daewoo backs this up by selling more of the admittedly lesser quality Korean cars simply because they are cheaper. From Holden's point of view they get bigger margins for the Korean cars so why wouldn't they.

As far as Ford goes for Euro quality and lack of rebadging, up until recently Festivas were made by Kia. And Couriers, Bravos and Escapes are rebadged Mazdas.

But on the whole, Ford generally don't rebadge. They don't need to because they don't pretend to be something they're not (ie a you beaut Aussie company that was bought out by GM America before the first car even rolled off the production line).

Would you prefer a FORD made in Korea or a FORD made in Germany/other European country ??

An easy translation for you..... QUALITY.... not CHEAP...... Sorry Holden, I have looked at your korean vehicles and frankly they look cr@p.......

Yeah like fords QUALITY class european vehicles they have sent down under capri escort mondeo cortina type quality stuff ?

You missed the point ya silly bugger !!!!

OK, let's make it simple..... Would you prefer a Ford that was made in Korea, or a Ford that was made in, say, Germany ???

Tom Gorman chose his words carefully, but if you read between the lines, what I wrote above is what he is inferring...... ANY car can be badly rebadged.... Do you remember the Nissan Utes ?? or the Toyota Lexcens ???

It's about sourcing a reasonably good quality product, versus a product based on cost......

"We're not about bringing in Korean product and rebadging it," he said, referring to Expensive Daewoo importing Korean-made Daewoo Barinas and Vivas, and rebadging them as Holdens.

And the Focus and Fiesta are both made on our shores are they..... :spoton:

Good one Tom. :roflmbo:

Are they made in Korea?
