An engine machinist will be able to check the rods to see if they are usable, the pistons will be a throw away job it would be a watse of time to re use these unless it was the same block.

What they would be worth or finding a buyer is a different story.

They're worth $0000000

Nothing at all!!!!

They'd make a good display....LOL

If you were going from Standard turbo rods to used F6 Rods you'd be an idiot!

The expense involved in rebuilding a bottom end & you put in rods that aren't much better than what you've already got????

If a Rod fails it's goodbye Head, turbo & block anyway.

a bottom end is basicly the rotating bits in the sump/bottom of the motor.

crank connecting rods and pistons.

most people dont replace the crank.

How does the head and turbo fail from a broken rod??

I agree that the sump, block and possibly the crank will be damaged, but head and turbo - I dont think so.

Anyway, I agree with your assessment for the rest of your post, even if the language is a bit strong :spoton:

A rod could launch the piston into the HEad and damage the head, or eject out the side of the block hitting the Turbo causing damage, unlikely, but possible

I know how -

I know of 2 cases where the rod has come out the side of the block and taken out the turbo with its momentum. Its uncanny how its more times than not the rod adjacent to the turbo that collects it on the way out.

The head gets damaged when the rod snaps and the piston travels up, up and away into the head.
