It wasn't till today that I really appreciated how totall f*cked the std brakes were. I fitted the DBA 4000 series disks and some bendix ultimate pads (I know they are dusty). Instantly the brake sudder was gone. Ford have had atleast 8 goes at fixing this but to no joy. Braking has improved tenfold. Had some cockhat cut me off on the freeway and I jumped on the peddle and nearly thru my son out of his booster seat. So any one with shudder, dont even take it to ford just spend $350 odd and say good by to totally f*cked brakes. This was a suck it and see before I spent5k on really big/good brakes but I might just wait and see now.

Hey Turtle33, run a set of calipers over your discs now....then check them in 6 months. I ran bendix ultimates and they stuffed my discs in 2 years. Very hard on discs.

Cheers

This is mainly due to the fact that the std rotors are NOT designed for Ultimate pads! Rotors are designed to wear out. They like the pads, piston rings, bearings are designed to wear and be replaced!

So if you place a harder pad on a standard (soft) rotor, combine this better braking performance from the pad, the rotor will wear out quicker. Simple! :roflmbo:

Ive always replaced my pads with high performance items and never had a problem with the disc wearing, but great info turtle, hit the brake pedel today going from 170km down to 0km on my runway and well the shudder was a joke, will be doing this upgrade very shortly me thinks :roflmbo:
