Female, red head, gemini, currently pregnant = loads of character! :D

RAFWL

LOL :D

Don't envy you then.

Libra is a stubborn enough star sign as it is. And the pregnant thing, good luck, you're a braver man than I am :ermm:

The other kid in his terrible twos isn't helping either :ermm:

Excellent choice DZ, I think there are going to be a lot of us around soon.

Your wife has good taste, I suppose you agree.

What options did you go with?

Haven't purchased yet - I have to wait until next year but it will probably be just the premium audio and scuff plates. Being in Qld leather gets a bit hot in summer (have this problem in the 200SX) and with a new baby on the way the capsule is likely to damage the seat. My wife tends to not use a sunroof because of her English skin and the car's that roomy that I don't really feel the need for it in there in any case - the lighter the better :-)

OK,

After arm wrestling with both my employer and the lease company, the paperwork is going through.

Problem I have is that I'm still unsure about the colour!

I was fairly sure that it would be Mercury Silver but now I'm confused for the following reasons:

1) The exclusivity of Phantom and Blueprint is very appealing.

2) My wife actually liked Phantom (to my great surprise!)

3) After not even considering Acid Rush, I saw it in full sunlight and it looked amazing.

I like the silver because I think it gives the car a lot of class, is easy to clean and there's little chance it will date. I'd be looking at selling it at the end of the lease and am a little worried that one of the hero colours may end up dating like the VT/VX tiger mica and then possibly affecting resale.

Interested in some opinions. Other than its conservative nature, has anyone got any other negative opinions on the Mercury? A pic would be great if anyone has one - been a while since I saw a Mercury Silver in the flesh.

Thanks guys.

Hey superoo,

Go the Phantom but then l would say that

l dont think Phantom is a "look at me hero colour" like Tiger Mica, its a little less ostentatious and l dont think it will date. Some of the upcoming colours like orange, yellow and that lime/green colour l have seen on some GT pics may possibly be more at risk of dating in the way Tiger Mica has.

If l was buying again it would be between Phantom, Mercury Silver and white.

I may be wrong but Phantom seems to be the most popular colour so far - if you want exclusiveness then that's not the coulour I'd go for.

Of course, that's only going from the guys on this forum.

For what it is worth here is my 20c worth Superoo.

I agree with Grant that every second XR6T on the road will be phantom however every second car of any make on the road is silver. I sometimes look at just a sea of silver cars because whether people but a $13K Barina or a $100K Merc they think silver is classy and easy to keep clean.

I say silver is boring.

I have seen the XR6T in nearly every colour except green and it looks sensational but with apologies to the guys that have bought or ordered Silver Mercury I have to say that it is the most unimpressive in the flesh.

Each to there own but I think this car is conservative by XR standards and a little bit of colour contrasts with the silver wheels and badges and makes the stand out from the pack.

Having said all of that thank god we are all different.
