4+ hours is kinda slow going getting an engine out, iv'e pulled a few now and none have taken that long. Mostly around the 2 hour mark, bonnet comes off then I lift the engine and trans out together with a forklift lol. If your not worried about the lines and cut them all you can have it out in about 4o min, if your not worried about the car give me 15 and I'll have it out with an oxy.

A boss engine is alot different, it needs to come out the bottem so it's all the suspension off then drop the cross member. Would be heaps easier if I had a hoist or a lift, takes 2 forks to get a Boss engine out.

Why take the head off if your only changing rods ?

Rods are attached to the pistons and the pistons have to be fitted from the top because the ring compressor has to sit flush against the block, so the head has to come off

Nah ya dont lol, just unbolt the mains and drop the crank, rods and pistions as one, swap the rods over and jam the whole lot back in one shot. If you break some rings dont worry, just use some sealnt and whack her back in. lol :roflmbo:

Admittedly I have been out of the trade for a long time, but it used to be done this way quite often with great success.
