if I was gonna do it id want 400+rwkw... gotta keep up with my bro`s GTR...

Well 400 +rwkw is a very different story, to be fairly safe you will need:

Forged Pistons

Billet rods

Billet oil pump

Valve Springs

EDIT

Injectors

Fuel Pump

Intercooler

Possibly Turbo, but definitely wastegate mod.

Modified intake (Nizpro or similar)

Etc, etc.

02/06 has the weaker rods, and you are definitely not safe to over 300 rwkw with those :spoton:

Anyway, good luck :roflmbo:

Yep.

Has to be separated from the transmission, water and hoses out, radiator and cooling fans out (as the a/c condensor is screwed to the radiator, the front bumper bumper has to come off), exhaust off etc.

yep, was thinking of nispro stage 2, plus the rods, pistons and clutch whilst in the shop at the same time. then screw about 20psi into it to get it over the 400rwkw...

figured it would be way cheaper than going back again, and goin for more... :spoton:

just wondering what would be an average number of hours that an average mechanic would charge out to fit new rods in BF xr6t?

Do you want average rods as well :tease:

Seriously, probably 2- 2 1/2 days, + parts, gaskets etc.

The engine has to come out, and top and bottom has to be removed to do this.

I have done it a few times, so above is a realistic estimate.

How old is your car?

You install Rods as well :) how many cartons of beer will that cost me?

Yeah, I can do this as well, but I guess we need to get the transmission upgrade/conversion out of the way first :msm:

What are you looking for from your engine, since you want to change the rods?

If it's not too wild, I have a set of brand new F6 rods sitting here in a box, and they should be OK for 330-350 rwkw, so we can discuss further when I do your transmission conversion

for the next year or so I want around 300 - 320

going to do the auto conversion.

new cooler kit and injectors then get a tune.

will then get springs and pump if needed.

after I sell my house in at least 2 years.

If I keep the car then I will be building a new engine for atleast 400rwkw

other wise ill probably buy a 6 speed auto phoon

so for my goals I will definatly need new rods in the next year
