I only ask if there's a difference because I know that an xr8/T clutch doesn't fit an N/A (or at least I've been told...) so I immediately assume as the clutch attaches to gearbox, and they are different, then the gearbox might not fit our car as well...

MIGHT....

but if it will alls good and I'll happily look for a nice 6spd for my N/A...

The Xr6T and Xr8 boxes are different design apparently as per ford themselves, the BF 6 speed manual N/A6 will fit the BA N/A 6, and are stronger than the 5 speeds.

I will be selling one soon with the crossmember and maybe clutch,

Cheers

Ford spec different box's but is it because of different ratio's or is there stronger larger parts in them.

I think it would just be the different ratio's as why would they design a gearbox in different strength from one to another unless there was money to be saved,

EG larger imput shaft may only cost a extra $1 each for one that is 10mm larger in diameter.

Look back with the borg warner 4 speed back in mid to late 70's that was fitted to everything from 6cyl to 351 v8 and it still had same internals except I think there may have been a few ratio options.

It would be good if a gearbox expert could let us all know what and it there are difference's and what may be best suited for our modified cars.

If anyone has a good 6 speed manual that suits XR6T please PM me prefer brisbane to gold coast purchase.

Have spoken to ford confirmed 6 speed manual from BF will mount up behind the BA ,if going from auto need crossmember and wiring loom which mine will come with, and a clutch of course which I may sell as a whole package.

Prolly a stupid question but Would a clubby T56 fit a BA? And why are they so cheap compared to the Falcon ones?

because they came out of a tractor! apart from the obvious bellhousing difference, the commo version of the T56 has diferent linkages somewhere, and it only has single syncros on forward gears, as well as a longer gear throw
