01txr Member 861 Member For: 17y 9m 21d Gender: Male Location: QLD Posted 19/03/07 08:49 AM Share Posted 19/03/07 08:49 AM Ford spec different box's but is it because of different ratio's or is there stronger larger parts in them.I think it would just be the different ratio's as why would they design a gearbox in different strength from one to another unless there was money to be saved, EG larger imput shaft may only cost a extra $1 each for one that is 10mm larger in diameter.Look back with the borg warner 4 speed back in mid to late 70's that was fitted to everything from 6cyl to 351 v8 and it still had same internals except I think there may have been a few ratio options.It would be good if a gearbox expert could let us all know what and it there are difference's and what may be best suited for our modified cars.If anyone has a good 6 speed manual that suits XR6T please PM me prefer brisbane to gold coast purchase.
