Bf Xr6 6 Speed Gearbox Cost

because they came out of a tractor! apart from the obvious bellhousing difference, the commo version of the T56 has diferent linkages somewhere, and it only has single syncros on forward gears, as well as a longer gear throw

From all the previous posts there are four different boxes:

1. XR6T

2. XR6

3. XR8

4. Expensive Daewoo V8s

They have different splines, lengths, shifter locations etc etc

I would like to know if any of the bellhousings bolt up to the XR6T block as I want a cheaper box than the turbo one for my Escort when it gets an XR6T motor.

surely the NA xr6 bellhousing would bolt up, especially considering the newer NA manuals are the T56

No major problems, you just need the complete trans with cross member etc., shifter, yoke and some additional wiring for the reverse inhibitor, and it will all bolt in.

In short, yes... just to switch the ECU's program/setup from auto to manual. No other tuning is necessary.

Also going from Auto to Manual requires a touch more than just that ^

 

To do properly gear ratios need to set, torque management and idle parametes need to be adjust plus a couple of other things.

This is the point. To do it properly, you'd want a full tune and setup done to suit the new setup... but to just "get it done", is another matter.
