I'm no conspiracy theorist, but this fiasco is ridiculous. Obviously big nose wasn't originally compliant with the ownership requirements but they just turned a blind eye until he could get it all sorted out. If it was a Ford team in question my opinion wouldn’t waver - the license should have been withdrawn and given to someone prepared to play by the rules.

One good thing that’s come of it though is that it has undoubtedly pissed off a lot of other owners, and it will give them that little bit more punch to beat HRT on the track.

Craig Gore said it best “It's not hard to prove the contractual purchase or ownership of an asset. I think it's a lot easier to prove ownership of something than a requirement to need 14 days - I can prove I own this team this afternoon."

True, but has this been reflected in the over-favorable results of the HRT in the past few years?

I agree that TEGA need to straighten their act, and also accept that drivers can be critical of what goes on, without being fined for 'bringing the sport into disrepute".

Some of the stuff that goes on leaves room for improvement, but remember that many of the marshalls and other people involved are volunteers, and thus mistakes will be made.

How many of you are out there donating your time to the local car club, and also when the V8 show rolls into town??.

I guess TEGA need to make sure thay look after the rules, as well as the good of the sport, something which would not be achieved if one of the major teams went missing, regardless of which side they were on :spoton:

No, the results are irrelevant, they’ve made a joke of themselves throughout this process and got a lot of fans off-side...present thread is a perfect example.

TEGA are there as a governing body; the ones that wield the big stick and make the tough calls. There was no clear evidence of ownership forthcoming in a timely fashion so they pussy-footed around for months waiting for Skaife to get all his documents in order. That is unheard of, the decision should have been made almost immediately.

Given that Skaife also sits on the TEGA board and there has been a blatant breach of one of the fundamental rules, you’d think they would have been more transparent throughout the process as well. Maybe it will all become clear as time passes and the information is leaked to the media, but at the moment it stinks and anyone that disagrees has rocks in their head.

I do agree that losing one of the biggest names would be tragic, but no more tragic than making a mockery of the sport.

Those that can't see the bias and cheating are being extremely naieve to say the least.

I too like the sport for the driving skill and the tactics involved, but do get frustrated with the one sided rules. If you haven't noticed them, then you haven't been watching.

Sure there have been some bad calls for Expensive Daewoo drivers (Dumbrell last week is a prime example), but I can't recall the last time HRT/HSV copped one.

The sreies is certainly tainted, but it was a forgone conclusion that there would be no real penalties with the Skaife decision. When one of the two teams accused of co-ownership had already been cleared, obviously a decision had already been made. Without the Toll team involved, what were they investigating Skaife for, owning the same team twice? The whole thing was a stunt to make TEGA and Co look like they were addressing an issue that all of the other teams were complaining about.

I also follow the drivers, have always liked Ingall and Richards no matter what they drove and I don't mind Todd Kelly, but I have noticed that now it seems that most of the dirty, whingeing drivers have ended up driving for the red team and drivers like Lowndes and Ingall (who have both hinted that their moves were partly due to a distaste of Holden's tactics) have switched to Ford.

Cant say im as interested in it anymore.. Last years end wasnt right. If it would have been clean racing I would have no problem with kelly wining but the way he along with all the other Expensive Daewoo teams did it was not right.

I agree with other ppl in regard to the HRT fiasco. I would not be good for the sport if they were not there and I think that every man and their dog knows that big nose does not own the team. I do believe that if they have stuffed up and trued to hide somehting they should be penalised IE make them sit out a round..

I also agree that if it was say FPV that were been looked into for the same reason things would be different. I am saying this based on the bad decisions that went holdens way last year.

Its sad to see this sport go down the sh!tter and I will never be as good as when Ambrose was around. TEGA if they are been one sided better take a good look into themselves before it gets any worse. :censored:

This will not make any difference to the outcome so make of it what you will. Skaife has been playing the smoke and mirrors game. I can confirm he has changed company names on at least 8 times.

Skaife Racing P/L previously Askise P/L

Skaife Enterprises P/L previously Spuncrew P/L

Skaife Holdings P/L- Wyong Tyre Service P/L

Skaife Sports P/L - Expensive Daewoo Racing Team etc etc etc.

His company is limited by shares which consist of 2 shares purchased for $1 each.

Have attached extract from ASIC if you care to read. :spoton:

How can it be in the competition's interest to keep them(HRT) racing???????? This is one of the most disgraceful outcomes in sport!!!!

Harsh penalties to HRT doesn't punish the whole Red side. The fact that it is the factory team should make the consequences even more serious not less!!!!!! What happen's in the footy for a salary cap breach???? These are fundamental rules being broken.....What happened to Schumacher a few years ago??? He got excluded from the whole season's points for his bad tactics and he was F1's golden boy!!!

HRT/HSV have been the standout teams and now we know why!!!!

I would be more than happy to see Perkin's team for example winning fair and square. People like him deserve to compete on an equal footing with the Fords aswell as the Holdens.

I may sound harsh but saying I'm pi55ed is a massive understatement and I wish we could do more about it....We waited too long to taste success and have had our noses rubbed in it for years.....

What happens if HRT win the next round???? And the next one after that????? How the hell is that fair to any other competitor and the fans aswell???

I better stop now.....That's my whinge.........It doesn't change anything I know but I just had to say it!!

OK...my time for a winge......the whole AVESCO thing hasn't evolved over the last 5 years to keep track of major manufacturing performance changes in OZ and the Aussie consumer...eg: Toyota now outsells both the Lion and Ford and looks like keeping it that way. V8 's now account for a smaller and more irrelevant market segment than ever before.....what do we see from Mr Cochrane and company - same ole same ole :nono:

Given the fact that the moral champion Loundsey and Mr D@ckhead Kelly are now representing "failed" brands I would have thought that the scrapping of the V8's with a more street based comp with actual win on Saturday buy on Monday brands representing Toyota, Ford, Expensive Daewoo and Chrysler for example would result in less hysteria from the supporters as their real cars would be racing, more interest from the inclusion of bigger brands, and better engineering from all due to a more street based comp.

At present we have a concocted, artificial and basically b*llsh*t competition - no wonder that Ambrose has left us for that oval office!:spoton:

Agree- but maybe we can have that and still have V8 supercar?Adopt nascar altogether for V8 supercar, like sasol has in South Africa.(nascar spec cars with aussie Falcon bodies have been raced there.I have some pics somewhere)

The choice is there then for spectators......production or template racing. Can V8 supercar survive without Ford Australia backing?I think so.
