It's probably better than meeting in Wonnie anyway. Rough time for Lang Lang would be 9:30 - 9:45am? Never been to Loch (or heard of it) so it should be interesting. My wife will be coming along for the ride too. Made sure she had the weekend off. Depending on how the roster works out my mate might be coming along in his XR8. Makes the home run easier and faster First post is updated to show the new route. Round trip is now only 460km (used to be 540km in the initial route proposed). (but some of the best roads are little out of town)Is the date not good? (it does fall during the school holidays but it is clear of other events - please correct me though)Is it too close to our previous VIC event? (held on 11 Mar)Is it the cost (for fuel, for park entrance)?By the way, had a brief telephone chat with Feann Torr today, the motoring journalist of Webwombat, to see if he would like to join us on the cruise. He's a Ford XR fan. He plans to have a Ford loan car that weekend to evaluate (not sure what) and what better way to check it out than with us on some twisties

Then it's always the fuel costs, we all know about that! At least $80 for the tripAly

It's an individual thing, but I also look at it as about 230km somewhere and 230km back and for those who have done long distance driving every now and again - 230km aint that much (especially with all the stops we take to break it up).The cost is an individual thing. If you can afford the $ and the time, it is a great way to enjoy your XR and the open roads and with fellow like-minded forum members. Think of it as an evening out - some people could easily spend that much on a good night out at restaurant nowadays. And now's as good a time as any - milder Autumn temperatures and the dry weather means the roads are immeniently drivable.

Skooby Donating Members 398 Member For: 18y 8m 2d Location: Phillip Island Posted 19/03/07 08:44 PM Share Posted 19/03/07 08:44 PM I do a 260km round trip to Narre Warren every other week to see the family. Admittedly it's half the distance of the cruise but with a few stops along the way it aint that bad.
