Hi I would like to increase the perfomance of my 03 XR6T. What are the first upgrades I should do.

I was thinking

1. capa flash tuner

2. full 3" exhaust from the turbo back

3.High flow air filter

4.bigger intercooler

5.Big better brakes(for stopping this car with the extra power, not performance.)

If someone has any ideas of brands they have used I would much appreciate it.

Thanks

1. yes

2. yes, and high flow cat, 4" dump etc

3 & 4... yes, but go a pod filter and swap the battery over, lose a few metres of intercooler piping

5. definitely if you only have standard brakes. I have premiums and they stop very nicely, but go bigger if you plan on doing track work or repeated heavy braking.

6. Injectors

7. Fuel pump

Should set you up for around the 280 - 300rwkw mark

he means that u swap the battery to where the airbox is currently and then run a pod filter to your inner drivers side guard.

this enables a true flow intercooler to be used instead of one that plumbs back over itself like the stocker.

gets rid of a good couple of metres of unnecessary cooler piping and enables boost to come on faster

If your car is an auto, there is only a limited gain by removing all the extra plumbing piping. On a manual....different story but everything depends on what power you're chasing.

I would go Capa Edit and injectors plus custom tune, that will get you plenty of power to get you into trouble and the high 12's if auto. Then spend the rest of the money on some upgraded brakes.

If you then want to go to the next step, get a monza intercooler (best bang for buck) this will keep your temps and power consistent, upgraded intank fuel pump and a larger cat. Should get you past 300rwkw and wheelspin city.

So then it's time to spend money on tyres....
