...keeping in mind that not all projectors with HDMI are actually "HD" :spoton:

It all looks pretty good Scotty, would definately go for a proper stereo/speaker setup though. Also with the PC you should be looking for Vista instead of XP and at least double the hard drive capacity - 200gb will dissapear faster than a manual driver in the rear-vision mirror

Why not go somewhere like JBHIFI and get a package of the usual kind?

They always have packages, like 7.1 amp, dvd player and DECENT theater speakers systems for a few grand, less on sale. Add a good Hidef projector and you'll have a BIG sounding system.

I made my own 4m x 3m screen, cost $40 and works really well, and for $20 I made a shelf and sat the projector on it

mate if I were you id spend a little more and get a proper HT setup..

once you add in the projector mount @ $339 *cough*$70 @ JB's*cough*, you are close to $4100 which would buy a pretty reasonable system

the PC is a bit exxy IMO at $1700.. Ive built myself a cheapo PC to run downloaded sh*te thru my HT and it was about $600 from memory and does the job..

You could get a decent receiver and speaker package from JB's/Surround Sounds etc for about $1200-1500 that would piss all over the Logi's...

or even something like this for $799 !!

its cheap as chips but not bad bang for ya buck as a cheap setup

If you have a PC, save some cash and get a Zensonic Z500 Media Centre. I run one through eternet to my theatre room and it streams everything I throw at it. It also has shoutcast built in ( internet radio )

BIGGER speakers and DECENT amp..

a megawatt ( total rms ) should see you through ;)

Make your own screen as mentioned.. ( easy )

Allow Quality cables

So build my own screen, or buy one?

Buy and amp steup with some decent speakers and cabling.

What projector would be reccomended??

Maybe build a box to the specs I want, I do have the contacts.

But keeping in mind I want it so my daughters and wife can use, how do I gfet a copy of media centre?
