A fairly common misconception that a few people seem to think. Bluray is simply storage and not "better graphics".You will find if you bothered to research the topic that you seem to be a expert on that the Xbox360 and PS3 are both native 1080P. So the PS3 does not have "better graphics due to bluray". So in conclusion what have we learnt.1.) Bluray is high capacity storage and does not mean better graphics on its own.2.) Xbox 360 and PS3 are both native 1080p systems. (True HD resolution)3.) Graphics of games are produced by the processor and graphics card.Hope this clears things up for you and anyone else in doubt.Yes I do work in the industry and its annoying to see people talking crap all the time.CheersXr6t13's

Desert_phantom Member 141 Member For: 18y 5m 1d Gender: Male Location: NT Posted 26/03/07 03:05 PM Share Posted 26/03/07 03:05 PM Now a few things...From what I hear, The PS3 has around twice the processing power of 360.Blueray does help with graphics...to an extent. Higher storage means greter amount of textures yada yada. Of course a Bluray drive in a PS1 would look crap by modern standards. Bluray is really just a link in the chain.Directx10? as far as I knew this is the one and only draw card to Vista, as xp cant get it, and as far as I know nor can the 360. But who cares about vista, its just XP with some macintosh eye candy.Bluray SHOULD win out. Not just because its the better technology, but also becasue of the companies behind it (Huh as if Toshiba backing HD DVD can stop bluray)Given time the PS3 gameplay will show up 360. The PS3 has been designed to remain competitive for many years (and beyond the 360) (like the PS2), hence there is all the power game producers need, they just need to use it. This is just like the B series falcon still giving it to the VEs (in some areas anyway)PS3 I believe is the way to go. ive seen and played both, and seriously some of the graphics looked like a final fantasy movie (This was on a 65" 1920 x 1080 Pana plasma)
Guest Guests Posted 26/03/07 03:16 PM Share Posted 26/03/07 03:16 PM I'll just stick with my 360 for now Maybe when the price comes down a bit I'll think about an upgrade.
Killbot Member 160 Member For: 20y 10m 16d Posted 27/03/07 02:54 AM Share Posted 27/03/07 02:54 AM At this stage the 360 is much better buy, for 650 bucks you are getting everything the ps3 except the blueray drive. Plus the 360 has heaps more games out and better games for that matter. No one knows if HDDVD or blueray is going to win the format war so it would be silly to buy it just for the blueray drive to be honest. The bad thing about the xbox 360 is its questionable build quality, I am on my 3rd system now and many others I know have had similar problems of them breaking for no apparent reason. The ps3 does not have twice the processing power of a 360, its well known that they are very similar in power, if you have heard its twice as powerful it will just be the usual sony fanboys talking sh*t.Here is a link to gamespots comparison of the 2 systems, you will find the 360 has the better grahpics as this stage.http://au.gamespot.com/features/6162742/index.html
