Temp Effecting Perfomance

Lately I have been noting the temperature outside to how my T performs. Obviously the hotter the weather the more the turbo looses its performance but what is everyone else noticing.

I have also found that High humidity days also effect the performance.

Anything under 20 degrees brings boost on hard @ 2000rpm and spins the wheels easily.

I have BA 4 speed auto 309rwkw.

On very hot days I have noticed a lot of lag.

I think that the higher revs are not so effected but more the low end boost disappears with anything over 25 degrees and 50% humidity

Can some of you share what you have noticed with weather and performance?

mines stock and recently we had a long strech of hot weather. Then when the cold change kicked in, I took my car for a spin 1 morning and wow it was like a new car! had heaps more kick (out wards!)

The warm/humid weather used to feel like it sapped all the go out of my car, the cause I would imagine is a combination of things, the warm air (of course), the massive underbonnet temperatures that these cars are capable of and then the resulting heatsoak, the terribly small factory intercooler doesn't help either...

The hot weather sucks for our cars with the stock intercooler. Winter is coming around so that should help until next summer when I think I will need to invest in an intercooler.

Yeah I find that power is ok but is not repeatable. The more you flog your car the more heat buildup and then the slower you go. Bigger intercooler should fix that

Humidity is a bit of a red herring - because it makes us feel warm and uncomfortable one thinks it is the same for the engine in fact under certain conditions higher humidity can slow the onset of detonation allowing lightly more timing = a smig more timing + performance - in all likelihood insufficient to notice though.

Just get the Stage 2 and you won't notice anything of what has been posted above.
