That said I've used the ford Jacks on plenty of occasions and have never experienced this kind of problem, could be a batch of defective jacks. I decided to change it there and then and just as I was about to put the spare tyre on, and jack gave way! I had to quickly jam in the spare tyre underneath the rear guard otherwise it would of fallen on the axle. Could of been very disasterous. The jack bent on a 90 degree angle, but hey get this, my girlfriend has a 1993 pulsar that weighs less than a tonne, I used her OEM jack, and it held my car up no problems! smaller and thinner material, yet stronger... I recommend getting a new jack and ditching the ford OEM one, piece of if you ask me, whats 80 bucks in comparison to someones life?

He was only about 20. If you work on cars or even change wheels often atleats by 4 jack stands for home that can easily surport the weight.
