A true champion on the way to the top in USA lets hope. The Australian currently lies equal fifth in the NASCAR Busch Series standings and is the equal leader of the Raybestos Rookie of the Year award with ex-Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya. Ambrose will race in familiar territory this weekend at the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Not only did Ambrose perform well at the recently reconfigured speedway in the preseason test at the venue on February 5-6, the two-time Australian V8 Supercar champion also raced at the venue in last year’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event, where he netted a strong seventh place finish and lead 12 laps. Didn't you hear the serve Ambrose gave to AVESCO during his penultimate race in the category? Got fined over it but I'm sure he feels it was money well spent. He who laughs last ... It was very controversial and most people believe Skaife was clearly in the wrong and that Ambrose was hard done by, including Ambrose of course. Ambrose was given a drive through and said after the race “With decisions like that I’m almost pleased I’m leaving the series. We’re not going to lose this championship, we’re going to get it taken away.” He was subsequently fined $15,000 and docked 25 points.

He came back through the field to finish 8th! You'd have to be proud of that And then theres Montoya, Pruett's leading and they both get told by the owner "whatever you do dont wreck", so whats he do?? hits Pruett, and turns him around, In the interviews after,Pruett was pissed.....real pissed Edited 07/03/07 12:54 PM by BionicXR6T
