A fair bit of exprience with these setups.

DBA 400 slotted (not cross-drilled which then become cross-cracked) and Racebrakes RB74 competition pads $160 a set for Premos - far cheaper than Ferodos etc - they have a higher temp rating than almost anything available but are fine for street use. Have never managed to fade them using Motul race spec fluid and braided lines. They are superior to Ultimates without quite as much cold bite and do not produce as much dust. Failing the RB74s use Bendix Ultimates or Red EBC, good cold bite Ultimates will eventually fall apart long before the RB74s but it takes some doing. Do not recommend Lucas as they are a cheap alternative and QFMs are a better cheap alternative.

As Stang first posted. he didn't want a pad that was hard on discs. The Ultimates (and I assume the EBC's) are hard on discs. After 2 years running Ultimates my discs were stuffed.

QFM's LTM003's on the other hand have realistic wear on discs and still perform very good for (street) spirited driving. (AND) are rated to 650deg as opposed to Ultimates at 550deg.

Cheers

What can I say about the service from Tyronne at Stopmaster? What brilliant service. Couldn't get my pads and line out of Newcastle in time to arrive last Friday, so he brought them up with him on the weekend. Picked the gear up at Brookwater golf course yesterday, before he tee'd off.

Could not have been a nicer bloke or a bigger help.

Well done mate. You don't find service like that anymore. Can't reccommend enough.

So the ebc`s and the ultimates are hard on disc`s.

To give you an idea I drove with the factory std disc and pads for 3 years and developed shudder only twice the 2nd time being dec 2006, they changed my pads under warranty but the dust is a f&*&^^&** nightmare.

I have made some further enquiries regarding the QFM pads.

The pads that I run have been co-developed by QFM and Tyrone Duggan at Stopmaster Brakes at Gateshead. Newcastle).

They are part No. LTM 003 with a price tag of $85 per set including a shim set. Tyrone will post anywhere in Aus for (circa) $10.

Tyrone also recommended a set of steel braided hoses at $150 per pair. This he says reduces the flex that is created in the lines that Ford use.

What is the shim kit ?

The steel braided lines , I need front and back yeah (so these meet adr approval?)

Sorry if I`m being anal but like toa sk questions.

Are the ltm003 ok for a track day? once a blue moon, how will they hold up.

I have also noticed that there is a QFM k750 available it says they are designed for extreme use from the Street to the Track

K750 brake pads will perform from dead cold to 780 Deg C.

Are these a better pad, will they be as easy on the disc as the ltm003?,will I need a shim kit?, what is a shim kit?,do they bite good when cold or do you have to get them warm.

Hello anyone?

Ok guys as you know have been thinking about the lmt003 and the K750 asked the question and this was the response what do you guys think see below.

hello pete,

> the qfm ltm003 are rated at 600 deg C while the k750 are at 780

> deg C. they both have the same cold co-effecient so your byte will be

> the same but the k750 can handle much more punishment.

>

> The ltm003 where designed for the high end street use only, the

> k750 were also designed for the high end street use with the added

> extra performance to handle light track racing, eg: 5-10 laps at

> sandown not 40.

>

> the k750 create 10% more dust than the ltm003.

>

> to sum up the k750 are qfm's highest street to track brake pad the

> next step from this are full racing compounds that are not designed

> for the street.
