Have Just oprdered myDBA4000`s as per our group buy from vince.

But what pads should I get ?

Obviously dont want something to harsh on the disc as I dont want to have to replace then all the time, but also dont want something that's going to leave my wheels covered in dust like they are now.

What have the guys that prurchased dba 4000 done?

A friend who is in the trade recommended I speak to this mob and get their opinion, I have copied and pasted their email:

We have a Ferodo Racing pad, DS Performance, which fits your

requirements. It is a high performance road pad that is supplied into

top end original equipment programs, which offers good cold performance,

excellent stopping power, and low dust and noise. We have it in stock to

suit your car, the price is $196 per set (4 pads) inc GST.

This is a little bit left of field for a Pad recomendation becasue you don't hear thier name thrown around that often. I can't recommend Lucas Pads enough. They are No.1 performance pad in europe and are a used a lot by corvette owners in the US.

The guy who I sourced them through said out of all the stuff he sells these had the most versatile operating temps without being a track pad, and in some cases were better than track pads...

I have had them on my previous car (WRX) and now on the Typhoon with DBA4000 they are quiet, clean and purposeful.

I would also be interested in other's opinons. I have just ordered my new DBA 4000 slotted and x-drilled rotors. :spoton: Want a pad that has good street application as well as the odd track/drag event. Don't mind dust. Can clean wheels, but need to stop 1st and foremost.

I have had the drilled 4000's before and the holes cracked...

DBA recomended I don't get the Drilled rotors and only use the Slotted for Road and occasional track...

I can promise about 6-7 hot laps at Sanddown with the Slotted 4000's and Lucas pads.

I run DBA 4000's and have done for about 3 months now. They are coupled with QFM semi race pads and all I can say it is like a match made in heaven.

You wont find much to read on QFM pads but the guy behind them has a very long history in the market.

I used to run Ultimates but as the guy at StopMaster Brakes in Gateshead (Newcastle) said, they are a disc's worst nightmare. They ruined my discs.

The QFM's have virtually no wear on the discs and produce 1/2 as much dust as the Ultimates.

After taking a spirited run down Kangaroo Valley towards Nowra, there was virtually no brake fade which I thought was pretty amazing.

In a word, QFM pads for me and even on future cars.

Cheers

The Ferodo Formula (DS2000) are great for pedal feel and fade resistance, one the best pads I have used on the street, BUT there is a lot of dust!!

Same here, great pad but the dust is bad.

FatBat,

QFM's sound pretty good. Am struggling to get a part number from anyone for these (I am in Brisbane). Do you have the part no. from yours and how much you paid for them?
