Years ago you could get a polish called 'Freydies' it came in a little tin the similar size to a shoe polish tin, had a red Dino Ferrari on the lid. Stuff looked like normal furniture wax. Was brilliant but a cow to put on and get off, I reckon that's where I got tennis elbow. :D To date I have found Meguires Cleaner wax (in the tin) the best, but use the grey Meguires polishing cloth to get the bloody stuff off, but worth the effort.Oh yeah, use Quik Detailer between polishes. The gloss level isn't as good as I had expected. Also the car still seems to attract general road grime. I was hoping that the Meguiar's gold class products would acheive a fantastic gloss level as well help repel road grime.I would not expect to see now, or anytime in the future a polish or wax that repels road grime, that would be one magic bottle of stuff! Most panel beaters recommend it. It doesn't have silicone in it and it gives the best shine, no swirl and removes imperfections in paint. AWESOME!For minor scratches there are various grades of 'Freckler" which is also highly recommended by panel beaters.Auto Glym is another range of polishes which are very highly recommended by panel beaters.I won't knock Meguiars or any of the others but I was advised not to use them by my spraypainter (they have won Top Paint at Street Machine Nats) and stick to the ones recommended.Another really good mate of mine works with PPG and he is of a similar mind. He has just painted his black BA XR8 with a new PPG Harlequin style of paint. A lot of paint specialists recommend that the best way to keep your car clean and look after your paint is wash it with warm water and kero, chamois it off and use a specialist polish such as Plum Crazy.If you're happy with the one you use then keep using those products.
