Yeah, the race would have been much more interesting if James Courtney didn't stuff the starts. With the pace that he was showing during the race, I reckon that he could have won it! Be interesting to see the next rounds.

He didn’t go as far to say so, but hinted that the starting issue was not driver error.  Will be interesting to see if it actually was something mechanical as he’s usually one to put his hand up and say “yep, I stuffed up”.  He also struggled getting out of the pits as well.

Very promising though - was brilliant watching him drift around turn eight on every lap....treating it like a go-cart :w00t2:

I think the gearbox lost first gear. Having to start every time in second is a bit of a hassle for anyone. Skaife's about the only person who can do it repeatedly ... :spoton:

Well that makes sense then - he did very well if that's the case by picking up so many positions when throughout the entire race Lowndsey only gained one I think it was. :spoton:

Just to keep the :spoton: going about ownership. I checked out Skaife Sports P/L also known as Expensive Daewoo Racing Team on the Aust Business Register today to find that the ABN Status shows as "Cancelled" 01 May 2003. (ABN 66 104 515 960)

Also found that Walkinshaw Performance Group also know before as Tom Walkinshaw Performance Group Pty Ltd also known as Expensive Daewoo Motor Sport Pty Ltd (ABN 87 104 516 038) which were registerd on 24 Apr 2003 status is still active. This information can be checked at the ABR website. Simple hey !!!

Avesco & Tega, I think about 20 bucks will buy you the information you are chasing.

As for the catergory, I'm over it too. :pooh::pooh:

Hay guys lets not forget the VE is a new car & can only get better with time,The BF is on its last legs,Not saying we cant win but they did trow this one away. What makes a great driver better than an other keeping cool under presure,Rick & Tod did this very well.Lap recoreds that's bull sh*t THat didnt win the race.CHEERS BB

Geez you're hard to please mate, not happy with a lap record! Granted he didn't win but that was probably because of the engine mapping problem and not from lack of trying on Courtney's behalf.

I think your comment about the BF being on it's last legs is a bit drastic too! Makes it sound like we should be ringing the wreckers! The BF is obviously not on it's last legs if Courtney can get a lap record out of it and ther were 5 other BFs in the Top 10.

The VE seems to be going surprisingly well for a brand new model car with very little testing having been done.

This is only the first Round, plenty of others still to come, plenty more opportunity for the BFs to show the VE what winning is all about.
