I thought, its not that far about 20 min drive, I should be alright. Being as it was wednesday night and payday is Thursday I was running a bit short on cash. Anyways driving home I heard the low fuel 'beeps' (admittedly a couple of times) but for some reason I didnt care, I just kept driving.. Then I realised, as I had passed the last petrol station before my local one and I was down to 5 km. The numbers dropped so much so quickly. I was pretty much on a highway, about 10 mins still away from home, and nearest petrol station (and didnt have any money anyways) so I started my pants.Anyways soon enough the meter read '0km' left but I couldnt do anything other than to keep driving. To cut a long boring story short. I made it all the way home. Then still made it to the petrol station the next morning all the while on 0km left. Funny thing was that when I filled up the next morning, it only took 57 litres.. or so.. so I reckon I still could have gone further.. has this happened to anyone before? whats the longest you have driven on No Fuel? I usually fill up once the tank hits a quarter. I don't like the idea of sucking all the rubbish in the bottom of the tank through the injectors and engine

We put $3 worth of petrol in it and then drove back to his place again.Cheers Zac

When it gets to "empty" there is a reserve which is supposed to get you about 10-15km. Also the dist to empty is just a guide based on averages. If you thrash it for most of the tank, then take it really easy for the last 1/4 it will read lower than you will actually get.Problem is when you start driving around with bugger all fuel in be careful putting the foot down as you can lean the car out... fuel sloshing around means the pump can be sucking air!My old car the fuel pump used to get nice and loud when the tank was low and it started sucking air

I just simply forgot to fill up before I went to work this time... it wont happen again... It feels like a miracle when its late at night on a rainy dark highway, with no money on hand...
