I have been considering the same kit, however there is something I can't quite work out. In Motor mag the APS car was making 235rwk which they said translated to about 295fwkw, however on the capa dyno chart their stage one is only making 215rwk and they are stating it is making 290fwkw. I don't get it, which one is fibbin?

I don't get it, which one is fibbin? Could maybe be explained with one being an auto while the other is manual.Anyway, I think it is really difficult to determine how real all the dyno figures that are being bandied around are, so I chose on the basis of my perception of who has the most experience with turbo/supercharger applications.Everybody has to make their own assessment, because at the end of the day you have to live with that choice for a long time.I like CAPA's philosophy of maintaining all the good protection features Ford built into the ECU for temperature monitoring etc., and the focus on performance without severely reducing durability. Possibly, but I don't think this would result in a 20rwkw difference.I agree with you on CAPA's product, it does seem that they have put in the most effort so far, and I think this will result in the most reliable kits. The discrepncey in power figures just makes me curious as to which firm has more credibility, unless as you suggest, there is variations in the (dyno) testing equipment which gives such different results. However if APS had a GTS on their dyno and it produced 240rwk it would make me beleive that their XR6T with 235rwk is closer to the stated 295-300fwkw mark. Don't take offence,I am just making an observation and I commend you for being one of the first to take this "giant leap".

All these numbers flying around makes it a bit confusing. It would be nice if the tuners would give us actual before and after 1/4, 0-100km/h and in gear acceleration figures. Reliability issues aside, I don't care if my car has 500kw claimed if it doesn't feel any quicker. Real world results is the name of the game, the actual kw output is really just bragging rights. eg. 260kw XR8 is slower than 240kw XR6T.
Guest Mr Walker Guests Posted 27/05/03 08:28 AM Share Posted 27/05/03 08:28 AM Ninka,You better be bringing this thing to our get together at the Tickford Club meeting - I gotta see it. Then we'll convince you to bring it up to Wanneroo Raceway for the sprintday. Who's installing the kit in WA?
