Well, after the Walhalla run on Snuday I thought mine would have been drinking it like a fish.

The trip computer is still telling me 12.3 and looks like I will get high 500's out of the tank.. What the.. (and I gave it a whipping on the 12km run into Walhalla B)

Oh well got to be happy with that...

Averaging 420 per tank. Bloody petrol gauge needle goes too fast to the left, and Ford don't cover it in their warranty (swines!!) :D :D

Yeah, yeah I know the rate the needle falls is directly proportional the congruency of the angle and speed of decent of the little pedal on the right hand side of the big stopping pedal

Update.....

I filled mine after the run. The trip meter was on 530km and I put 58L of fuel in her.. (All normal Unleaded)!

It had 40km DTE.. ??? By my reckoning I had at least 10L more to go.. (Yes the manual lists the sedan as having a 68L tank. ) So where is the other 10L?? Buggered if I know! :oooh:

Anyway, by my calculations I got 10.95L per 100km.. (Trip computer tells me 12.3) AND as I said.. She got a whooping too...

ALSO... I do think t is more responsive than before..

Moral of the story. Take it out and give it a whooping (once run in) and she will respect you for ever!!!.. B)

I have to agree, my baby seems smoother and more responsive since I "unleashed her" for the FIRST time since I got her.....sad really since I have over 8000km on the clock.

BTW the trip meter shows low-mid 13's for the first time. I havent filled up yet since the trip but I expect that the fuel economy will be suprisingly good given the driving since the odo and the dte add up to over 550km.

Just calculated the fuel economy for the Walhalla trip and a respectable 12.3l/100km.

Given the hard driving done I'm VERY happy with this :D

I just run the normal BP ULP..

I run either depending on the price and have a fleet card for BP and Caltex/Ampol. I usually use BP simply because there are more around. On sunday I was running ULP from Caltex.

So far there is no noticable difference in fuel economy running 98,95, or 91 otcane fuel. It may be in the mind, but it does seem smoother on the higher octane stuff though.

On a trip from Brisbane to Townsville recently, with the car showing 3500km on the clock, I managed to average 10.4l per 100k (normal driving 105-115kph, dropping back to 4th for overtaking). I've found one trick for economy (helps for performance as well) is to turn the traction control off. With this function disabled the car has more performance and is much more responsive. Turning traction control off may help fellow members achieve better fuel consumption. Around Brisbane I average 12-13l per 100k. This is achieved running the car on Shell Optimax if I can get it, or Shell premium unleaded. :D

We use manly mobile or caltex premuim sometimes optimax,

We get between 9-10 litres per 100 km on highway,12-13 litres in town, hard fast driving like I did yesterday about 16litres per 100 km wich is not to bad for the way it is driven to enjoy and not for economy.

This with 3.5 inch exhaust from turbo back and ss induction intake fitted. (I FORGOT THIS DEOS NOT WORK BECAUSE IT WAS NOT TESTED BY FORD)LOL...........
