Hey Guys, looking at my rego paper my ute weighs 1728kgs. How much does the sedan weigh? As for fuel consumption, I am not impressed yet!:huh:

I'm getting about 14-15 L/100km, city driving with a very heavy right foot. ;) This is by the trip computer. And something else some people may find interesting, by the instantaneous figure on the trip computer, I get about 9 L/100km when doing 60 km/h.

Howdy,

I'm getting roughly 6.6 - 7.1 KILOMETRES PER LITRE (all suburban driving) @ this not quite 4000 klm stage. Which is roughly only 10 - 15% more than my 6cyl AU forte. This I find O.K.

Want I would really like to see either from an aftermarket supplier or from FOMOCO for series 2 is a bigger capacity tank. I can imagine our 8cyl brothers are paddling this boat along with many of you. I appreciate the fuel tank is an engineering feat to get its size where its positioned, but it's deffinately inadequete when the thirst of our beasties is calculated into the equation.

Scotty

KTFord,

I was thinking that exact same thing. I am planing "The big Lap" later this year and planing to tow the van. The AU XR6 VCT only got around 350-400km per tank (normaly 600-650km with no Van) So it is a short run bettween Petrol Stations. Even another 20l would be great. Looking up under the rear of the car there seems to be heaps of room on the left (Sedan) next to the spare wheel..??

Unfortunatley we can't do the old trick (as per the XW/XY 36 Gal tank) and just get 2 bottoms and weld them together!

Maybe a few gerry cans on the Van front or rear bar may be in order!

P.S. Mine has now done 1250km and am down to 12.8l/100km (per the trip computer) :innocent:

after 1900k's I am averaging 16.5l/100ks -pretty happy with that

always remember the more fuel you use probably the more fun you have had and I've had plenty of fun
