Around Canberra get 13L/100km

Wakefield Track 37c (very hot day) 24L/100km and that is peddel to the metal.

Hwy cruise at 120Km/h get 10.5L/100km. I'm very happy with that.

My 3 BA's have all been quite different in fuel consumption considering that they have all been driven in a similar fashion.

XLS Ute SSS = Best 7.9L/100klm. Average = 12.5.

XT 5.4 Manual = 8.6, 13.8

XR8 SSS = 11.1, 15.5

But who buys a V8 for fuel economy???????

Cheers, Bazza.

I know I have mentioned this at some time in the past, so if you have read it, my apologies.

Anyway, with the Nizpro Stage 2 kit on their ute and while travelling on a country trip (sitting at around the speed limit on country roads for 80% of time, the other 20 demonstrating the car's performance to potential customers hence full throttle), we acheived 8.5l per 100k. Around town and it typically delivers better than standard.

You would have to drive a massive amount of km's before the fuel saving would offset the price of the nizpro kit!

I'm not having a dig at nizpro's pricing, I'm just saying nobody will buy one of those kits to save a few litres of fuel.

Hi all,

When people post their fuel Economy, could they also state whether the T's been modified with a quick summary as this could help others identify if they wish to persue the modifications to their Ts or NAs

Thx.

I think my trip computer is stuffed!

Had the car since October

6000klms

Manual

Drive to Ballarat from Melb twice a week

averaging 15 around town 12 on hwy

500km per tank 50/50 city & hwy-

400km has been the best around town & 500km the best on hwy.

The only problem is I will drive for 2 hrs on the hwy and my avg fuel consuption guage does not move! :( It has been on 12.6 now for 2 weeks! :smilielol: Does not matter whether I am in the city or hwy it will only variate .1 either way :smilielol:

Anyone got any suggestions? can I reset it? Or is it back to the dealer again?

You can reset it by holding down the TRIP button down for about 3 seconds..

In comparing fuel economy, it will help to also publish your average sppeed over the trip, to give us an idea of driving mix. In my VY 3.8L manual (yeah don't flame me, the XR6T is next) I get the following:

13.3L/100 with an avg speed of 33km/h (suburban driving)

12.2L/100 with an avg speed of 36km/h (suburban driving)

10.8L/100 with an avg speed of 45km/h (suburban driving and one long trip)

8.8L/100 with an avg speed of 85km/h (highway driving)
