Had the 'T' out in the country for its first long run in the contry Adelaide - Port Lincoln - Adelaide, with some scenic drives in the national parks whilst down there.1806km, 196.34litres = 25.99mpg (or 10.87l/100km or 9.20 km/l). Most of the country stuff set on the cruise indicating 114~116 km/h, with no sparing the horses for overtaking (It's just possible that I saw 185km/h at the end of 1 overtake, but maybe it was paralax error!! )The car has only done 3,500 now, so I expect those numbers to improve a little over the next 5,000 to 10,000km.All types of PULP used (can't be picky out in the Boon Docks) everything from Wooilie's to BP Ultimate. Interestingly the BP Ultimate (Port Augusta) returned the worst spot consumption at 23.91 mpg whilst the Woolie's returned the best at 28.88 mpg (go figure!!).Over all was hoping for at least 27mpg if not 28 out in the country but hopefully I'll eventually get it. A friend with an NA manual reckons he's lucky to get 10.xL/100km on the highway. I find that a little odd A.
davef Member 42 Member For: 21y 2m 25d Posted 11/01/04 02:40 AM Share Posted 11/01/04 02:40 AM I have been running the trip average fuel consumption for each fill and also keeping a log on the PC for trip and lifetime. What I can tell you is that the car trip meter consistently OVERreads and indicates poorer consumption than actual. ie trip shows 11.9 actual is 11.4I do a mix of town and country and since I got the car (3000km ago) have averaged 11.9.On a tankful, it has been between 10.4 (mostly highway) and 13.5 (mostly town). All done on PULPI am fairly happy with these figures, guess I can't be driving it 'properly' Hope this helps
whatever Member 76 Member For: 21y 7m 8d Location: Brisbane Posted 11/01/04 02:52 AM Share Posted 11/01/04 02:52 AM I noticed that the T uses more fuel in past week of QLD summer heat. Around 10% more for the same trip. Could that just be the AC or losing power due to the heat hence more fuel is need to produce same amount of power? Guest Scootre Guests Posted 11/01/04 11:41 AM Share Posted 11/01/04 11:41 AM (edited) This thread is a good read. After 1500Kms in my almost 3 week old T I am getting around 15.5l/100k's on the dial. Pretty surprising I thought because I haven't given the thing much stick or any (only up to 3000 rpm) until this last few days and then only a bit here and there - and now nothing over 4,000 rpm yet.One thing though, I've been running only on Mobil 8000 until my current tank which was BP PULP from a privately owned outlet. And since filling with this stuff I have felt the car isn't as perky. Price diff was pretty much nil, so back to the Mobil I go.
