Re-window Tinting

Hi all.

I've noticed over the summer period that the rear window tint is bubbling. Being the 2nd owner of the car, I can't be certain, but I assume that the tint is a factory job.

Does anyone know the costs involved of having the tint stripped and new tint added? I notice that The Tint Professor will do this service but there are no costs on their website.

PS: I'll have the entire car re-tinted instead of a patch job.

$365 to have the tint stripped and reapplied from the tint professor. It's $265 to have the car tinted from stock including pickup and delivery (which doesn't apply to me because I live in the country).

I would strip it myself but I am concerned with the demister on the back window..

Thanks guys :spoton:

I've noticed that mine is doing the same. I had mine done by the Tint Professor and they have to put a different type of tint on the read window because of the radio aerial being built in there. Is is a non-metallic tint.

Luckily the tint professor has a life-time warranty so I think (and hope) I can get it fixed for nothing because $100 for just a back window is a bit rich when the whole car only cost $265, but it was 3 years ago.

I think most reputable places would give a lifetime warranty. Perhaps you could find out from the previous owner where they got the tinting done. I stand to be corrected, but I believe the factory is very light and actually in the glass at manufacture so therefore could not bubble. Only an after-market tint is the film type that could bubble.
