What about the heat that would be obsorbed by the intake pipe fron the extractor??

It would get heat soaked I feel??

Its worth a try,

it shouldn't get too heat soaked without a heat shield and with a heat sheld it shouldn't get any heat, on older cars the inlet and outlet mainifolds are on the same side,

With the mod that Todd (exahsix) has done.. which looks awsome.. what sort of gains for an N/A would there be.. is it a bit of a waste of time due to the shortish intake pipe which comes standard??

what are your thoughts..

I know todds, but just wanna see what the rest of you think..

EXAHSIX, do you have any pics of where your air filter sits?

is the plenum pipe thingo close to the bonnet?

I've got closeups of the air filter but they're at home so I've circled everything on the attached photo - should give you the idea.

I'm not happy with the look of the intake side of things, I'm going to look at doing a mandrel bent pipe from the turbo, along under the battery tray, then opening into a filter or an airbox. Ideally I'd like to build a carbon fiber airbox in that area in front of the battery, that uses the std ford airfilter element and has cold air induction from under the headlight. Kinda like a slim vertical airbox. One day...

The 'plenum pipe thingo' is not close to the bonnet, plenty of room. But you cannot mount the throttle body without it, the angles make it hit the bonnet. Even if you get it straight, then you have to move the computer etc. no way.

where I've got the blowoff positioned it is perfect - it's right near the pipe going into the throttle body so it has the least amount of distrubance to the intake tract. And when it vents, it has all that hose along the front of the radiator to fill before it gets to the intake pipe. So, technically I reckon it's close to perfect.

Oh yeah, and note the size of pipe coming from the outlet of the cooler all the way into the throttle body is the same size for maximum breathing. Most kits (even Nizpro) have smaller piping coming out of the cooler, then using a reducer from the throttle body to the pipework.
