I have an early BA MK1 XR6T, I have changed out the cat for a larger one, and my car has been tuned as high as mid 320's at the wheels... though with all the factory plumbing and the XR6T intercooler at time it was a fairly 'hard' tune... add the bigger intercooler and it's a pretty good piece of kit right from the factory.

I've seen a couple of F6's tuned with Nizpro Stage 2 kits, with just dump and cat changes to around 360rwkw to 370rwkw...

So would you then say that it's basically the cat that is the weak link?

Personally from what I have seen, yes it is. A bigger dump pipe along with a larger cat will do very well... but as Paul said, injectors and stuff should always be done first, as these are the first thing to let the whole shebang down, it's not the exhaust.

The last few we have tuned have been let down by injectors and valve spring before exhaust.

How much are the injectors good for? and valve springs? I thought that the valve springs are upgraded over the xr6 turbo ones.

Ok thanks for that. What power figures are we talking about here? 350rwkw before exhaust needs to be done?

But.

And there's always a BUT.

Change the exhaust to a good free flowing unit and you'll not only pick up a good 30 or so RWKW, but make the rest with less stress on the motor.
