Put Bendix ultimates in the front only yesterday, premiums,So I was the first bugger to bed them in properly.

Did 60kph step on brakes, slow to 10 kph back to 60 slow to 10 back to 60 slow to 10 and let then cool. Now just take it easy for a couple 100 kms.

No squeel yet,bit to soon to tell .old pads had about 3.5 mill left on them, prolly good for another 10k, which would got me 30k odd k m out of them, got the discs machined, now my groves sure look less deeper.

vik

ps

Love the way Ford put the brake hose in the way of one of the bolts....

I've got 4000 series rotors and have just taken my 20% worn Bendix Ultimates out because under hard applications these sh%t pads were transfering pad material onto the rotor and giving me shudder again. I've replaced them with some nice new Ferrodo's that I'm hoping will do a better job.

3 days after service we drove to Melb. (from Syd.) and spent two weeks driving around (when I hadn't been drinking at the GP that is!) including the Yarra, down Mornington Peninsula, across to Queenscliff and then down the Great Ocean Road. (Yes, that was fun, even had some fun with a poorly driven Elise, had to have been poorly driven cause I had 4 adults and a boot full of luggage and could still keep up, lost abit on the corners but more than made up for it on the straights/hills.......)

The Elise you refer to wasn't blue with NSW rego LOT-1OS was it? If so it was a mate of mine based in Ballarat who I know went down the GOR on the weekend. Am I going to give him a gee-up!

Squiz....

Hi

How are you finding the 4000 rotors? are they the cross drilled and slotted or slotted only?

Cheers frank

The rotors are great and work really well when fitted with a good set of matching pads. They're only slotted because I'm not keen on cross drilled rotors due to reports of cracks forming between the holes in some instances. I'm not saying DBA rotors do this.

I've only just installed the Ferrodo pads so I'm not sure how good they will perform but from what people have said I'm sure everything will be ok.
