Low pressure drag can bring on shudder. that's when you hold the brakes on lightly to control your speed in traffic. The rest was explained on the previous page.

Holding the brakes on after track sprints can crack rotors as the discs cool at a different rate around the diameter.

The old hand brake trick is a clasic too. Applying the hand brake after a track sprint and letting the disc contract over the shoes. Guaranteed to bugger the rear discs.

This is not really an issue for street use. Unless you drive like a total nutter.

My T had its 30,000 service today.

Seems having the front discs machined is part of the normal service routine these days.

I did not ask to have it done as they did it in late December....3000ks ago. but I notice they did it anyway.

Smart Dealer.

Better to have a very light skim than wait for an unhappy customer to bang on the door.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but what helps to cause brake shudder is a lot of city/spirited driving then when you get home you pull the hand brake up, what happens when you have the hand brake on while the brake pads/discs are still very hot is that the area where the pads are grabbing the discs stays hot longer then the rest of the disk and in time will cause a warp. At least that's how it was explained to me the other day by a pro racer. SO I guess you need to let the brakes cool down before pulling up the hand brake by putting the car in gear so it doesn't roll away

The problem is the front discs warping not the rear!
