Which is probably a better setup in my opinion anyway for a fast streeter.Going for the public humiliation angle to get your brackets heh!..... They left today! Sorry SteveBut I am waiting on them I think 1axr may have rang me for the upgrade in fact.....but unfortunatly only got one of the chair moisteners from sector 7G and not spoken to me directly.I have everything in stock for the AP kit cept the brackets.....that are apparently on the way now.....whoooohooooo.1axrSure you didn't get quoted on the stock BA caliper ? My cost was about double your price from Covs on my account schedule...find it hard to think I as a brake specialist would pay twice what you might. You did use the BAT preffix right ? Oh and of course covs WA have no stock in the state.....would have to come ex east.....4 RH in stock and 6 LH......odd.Anyway all's good if you are interested in the AP 4 spot kit anyway. Posted 14/02/04 06:05 AM Share Posted 14/02/04 06:05 AM thanks dattomanI had someone ring covs and they quoted the wrong price, I had to kick some major ass over that one.I was trying to get some good brakes without going over the top on price.the minister for finance holds the bag with the two little balls in it very tightly in my house so I have to be carefull.I thought the pbr calipars and dba 42104 had to be a good combination and a lot less than 3 grand.please pm me if I'm way of track.my t is coming up for its 6th brake fix and third perminent fix so you can see I'm getting a bit peed off with it all. I'm in a similar position regarding the SWMBO. I've tried explaining how important larger injectors, bigger cat, bigger intercooler, bigger brakes, better brake pads, the chiptorque gauge pod with guages and an auto upgrade are of the utmost importance to the "T". I've tried hard to explain that with these mods the car wouldn't need much more done to it for quite a while and how happy it would make me. She says that sounds great. AFTER SHE HAS HAD THE BATHROOM FULLY REMODELLED. This could take alot of negotiation me thinks. :( Geea.
dattoman Member 67 Member For: 21y 6m 20d Location: Perth Western Australia Posted 14/02/04 01:13 PM Share Posted 14/02/04 01:13 PM I haven't driven a car with the premium brakes......so can't offer an informed opinion. In fact I haven't been in a BA at all yet.But I'd imagine from what I'm hearing that anything is better than the factory stuff. And there seems to be some good feedback on their performance except for the squeal.A member here has both BA and VY with the same premium brakes and the commy is quiet where the BA is noisy. Commy uses PBR pads.....BA uses Jap pads I believe. If this is all there is too it maybe the premiums with a different pad material would be worthwhile. If you can wait till they are released hopefully cheaper aftermarket. If not I can take a look at the AP kit again and see if I can trim it abit....won't be much but every little bit helps. Guest Dean XR6T Guests Posted 17/02/04 03:59 AM Share Posted 17/02/04 03:59 AM I have just completed 15000 km's and my brakes just started shuddering, so I took the vechile in for its 15000 km service and mentioned the brake problem to Ford Service Department. They are aware of the problem & said it caused by faulty shims in the brake calipers, they fix the problem by machining the discs & changing/removing shims. Ford Motor Company have also extended the warranty on the brakes from 50000 kms to 100000 kms. Now the Falcon drive and brakes as good as it did when I drove it out the sales yard. At least that's how it was explained to me the other day by a pro racer. SO I guess you need to let the brakes cool down before pulling up the hand brake by putting the car in gear so it doesn't roll away
