Guest cul08r Guests Posted 03/02/04 10:32 AM Share Posted 03/02/04 10:32 AM Well I'm joining the topic now.Oct 8 delivered T with 20,000 ks and brake shudder on the weekend. I have booked the car in to get it fixed Thursday, and I will see what Klosters do for me. If there are choices out there re pads or new calipers I will try to get them fitted. See what the dealer says. I am going down the south coast for the weekend so I will flog it again, and call the dealer on monday to book it in again!Andrew
Guest cul08r Guests Posted 05/02/04 04:05 AM Share Posted 05/02/04 04:05 AM I have just spoken to the dealer re a plan of attack for this evening. I have had confirmed that a machine and shims is the permanent fix for now. Also, I was told that Oct on build vehicles have a different calliper fitted. The dealer tried to tell me that these will not fit onto the pre Oct vehicles. Is this right, and does anyone out there with a post Oct build vehicle have shudder yet?Anyone that cares to email me offline would be appreciated, as I leave in 2 hours to get this 'fixed'.Andrew

These so called 'experts' in their field called service 'managers' really make me laugh and are a joke when they think we are all idiots and treat everyone with contempt! Very happy so far. Just over $1200 all up installed.
Guest cul08r Guests Posted 09/02/04 12:24 PM Share Posted 09/02/04 12:24 PM This is the option that I had on my WRX, and thought it was good except brake dust. I will go this direction as I have no faith in Ford fixing this problem. Having said that, I gave the b!+ch a flogging on sunday, thru the royal NP, down to Kiama, up thru Kangaroo Valley then down Maquarie Pass. No shudder back yet, and manhandled some STis in the process...well, arm wrestled them anyways.Andrew
Guest OXR-747 Guests Posted 10/02/04 01:32 AM Share Posted 10/02/04 01:32 AM Brake shudder came back after having the "permanant fix". Took it in yesterday for 30k service, was told it needed new brake pads. Was told there is no aftermarket pads and would have to pay $209 for the Ford item (front only not including fitting) I told the bloke that he's full'o'sh#t, I went to autobarn got a quote for $89.95RRP for a set of Bendix, rang dealer back told him about bendix, claimed to have rng parts people and they had none in stock. I'm soooo angry, but what can I do? And does that sound right that I'd even need new brake pads after only 30,000kms? If so pads are prolly f#@ked from having warped discs, should be under warranty. Not happy Jan Dave.

Guest dbasteve Guests Posted 10/02/04 02:59 AM Share Posted 10/02/04 02:59 AM Dave most pad companies only give a 12,000 to 20,000 km warranty. It's not that unusual to only do 30,000 kms any more. Opel (Holden) Astra's can do a set of rotors and pads in 30K. The same goes with many Euro cars and it appears to be starting with local cars.A lot of the O.E Ford pads being fitted now are Bendix...... Front PadsDB 1473 from Bendix or Ferodo
