They seem to haul up quite well all the time - and certainly we hit the grip limit of tyres (ABS kicking in) more often than pedal flat and little slowing....A. All but the VT were shocking. When it came time to replace the pads at about 70,000 km, I fitted whatever pads QFM said suited my car and driving style. It was like driving a different car. They stopped without having to stand on the pedal. In fact if I braked the same way I was used to I would be 3 - 4 car lengths from the car in front. They work fantastic. For those who don't know QFM (QLD Friction Materials), they're a small business based at Nerang here on the Gold Coast.I would recommend them to anyone, and they're also very well priced I thought.RegardsBig AL

Posted 12/01/04 07:32 PM Share Posted 12/01/04 07:32 PM As I have said before replace the ford pads with QFM type pads. :banghead: :banghead:IanHi IanWhat is a QFM type pad ?What's the difference between a QFM pad and the stock Ford pad ?Can you recommend a brand of QFM pads that work OK in the BA's ?Thanks,Scott As cooltint says QFM are a company on the gold coast that make brake pads using there own formular I first started using them on taxi,s in my workshop up here because they where the only ones that we could get more than 3 to 5 weeks wear out of them and we found that they were not as harsh on the disc's as the other brands. We use to change the ford pads on the taxi's before they even started to use them as cabs.If your local parts suppleir can not get them pm me I will see what I can do.Not only has it appeared to eliminated the shudder it also has less brake dust on the wheels and there are no burn marks on the disc like the ford pads had left.I have done over 8000 km's on these pads no shudder and this is with being very hard on them.I have fitted them to a mates turbo ute and he has done about the same k's and he as never had the shudder but had the shudder with ford pads.Ian

Guest dbasteve Guests Posted 13/01/04 09:04 AM Share Posted 13/01/04 09:04 AM Do QFM make them for the premium setup yte. Last I heard they dont.vik Sorry mate I missed your other post. There aren't to many options for the premium caliper yet. I think you'll find the O.E pads are Bendix ultimates anyway. Ferodo don't have a listing for the Premium pad in the 04/05 catalogue but I can check if they have any plans to make them.Another option is to reuse the old pad backing plates and have someone like QFM bond new material on them for you. We've had this done before and it works O.K. The only problem is you have to buy a second set or wait a while to get the rebonded ones back.Re: Police cars. The Police don't buy V8's any more except in special cases as they cost too much to run. All auto's too. G/Duties run std rotors and Hwy Patrol run premiums. It is apparently off the current model Mustang in the U.S.Specialised Brake and Clutch in Sydney have performance pads for this but they're not cheap at $385 per set. Good quality though, SBS from Denmark.02 9673 0988I'll have a look at this avatar upgrade. FYI ... A guy in Sydney has his XR6T up to 347kW.......
