Newton-metres (Nm) I think.

Definitely Nm

Neil,

I have tried to scheme calipers out of PBR but it's not going to happen. They're not in the aftermarket program.

C5 is awfull close but no cigar.

Maybe ASNU can give us the numbers off the boxes when he gets them in his hot little hands.

Dattoman.

Here you go with all part numbers as requested plus Ph numbers if you need a contact to upgrade this way.

Front calipers RH BAT/2B118/B

Front caliper LH BAT/2B119/B

Brake lines BAT/2078/A

The pads come with the new calipers which is a bonus.

You will require the DBA Premium rotor which part number is 421045L.Dont buy these threw Ford as just to expensive.Coventry Auto Parts or Repco can access them but shop around.

Hope this can help everyone to cure a rediculous problem that should never of happened. They just never seem to learn from there mistakes in the past.

Believe they are approx. $305-$315ea. as compared with about double that for original Premium discs!

You can get DBA slotted cross drilled rotors and carbon fibre oversized bendix pads for around $1100 fitted. I'll be getting these when my discs warp again (and again, and again)...

I had similar high speed stopping probs with the standard jokes. Went to the DBAs drilled/slotted with FERODOS and havn't had any problems at any speed except for the pccasional mild squeal and dirtier rims. Well worth it to know that you can stop quickly, comfortably, and consistantly. Ford should wake up to themselves. Standard Ts are like the old E49 Chargers, BRAKES, WHAT BRAKES? :hrmm:<_<

I can still remember the chargers hitting their brakes 800 metres before the end of Conrod straight at Bathurst,if they could have stopped the things they might even have won

To everyone with brake shudder problems. I honestly believe that the problem is caused by expecting way too much performance from the standard brake setup remember the XR6 Turbo is not really a high performance sports car, it is simply a family sedan with a turbo for a bit of extra performance. Also the brake pad material would definately be a cause of brake shudder.

Take my example from the EB Falcon I used to have, when I bought the car it had good quality brake pads in it, and I used to thrash the hell out of the car with no brake shudder at all, but then when it came time to replace the brake pads as they were worn out I couldn't afford to buy good quality brake pads and so I just installed el cheapo brake pads, about $20 for a front set, as soon as I did that the brakes were very spongy and used to overheat all the time.

Excessive heat causes expansion of metal (brake rotor) I remember the brake rotors of my EB Falcon actually had that bluish colour on the brake rotors from cooked metal after giving the brakes a super heavy thrashing.

I've just about read every post in here about brake problems, considered all the problems that people have had, and they all point to the same issue - and that is that the brake rotors are getting cooked, due to inefficient brand brake pads which cook the rotors and warp them rather then grabbing onto the rotors and stopping the car before the rotors have a chance to overheat and warp.

Hell even one post in here says that Ford says that the brake rotors are not getting enough cool air supply, therefore you have to lower your expectations of the brakes to make up for it.

So to everyone experiencing brake problems you really have two options, either install very high quality brake pads and maybe newer better quality brake rotors, or just SLOW DOWN and give the standard brake setup a chance. Remember they arent really anything special for a car that ways close to 1700kgs.

And yes I do have a XR6turbo with standard brakes and about 7000kms on the clock, I give myself more time to brake rather then just slamming on the brakes all the time and I am yet to experience brake shudder.

Hope this helps everyone.

Cheers :smilielol:
