I have had the DBA slotted and crossed drilled rotors on now for a very pleasent 10000km until last month and the shudder is back.I do tow quite heavy loads maybe twice a month and dont consider I give my ute a hard time with the brakes.

Where is the GOOD news :(

The discs are a factor in the problem mate but not as much as I or anyone has suggested.Braking is heaps better with the crossed drilled and slotted but has not cured my problem and would suggest maybe anyones else with this same hassle.I just do heaps of city km plus highway stuff and may of seen it return quicker than other people.

This is still the best car or ute I have owned for preformance and fuel ecomony and general all rounder and I am sure in the future there will be a reason for all this drama. With all the people contributing to this subject on there exprience it is only a matter of time to find the major underlining problem.

Got mine machined at either 10 or 15K and at 21k its back again....along with the exhaust rattle at idle, and a squeaky water pump...oh and tht new alternator did not fix the whine in the radio either.....

had the Ford brake fix No.17698745699 but who is counting

must say ... I've hammered them like crazy ... drive to work and back includes a 600m drop in height on steep bitumen roads where one can get plenty of speed up ... about 4 weeks now and all is good :smilielol:

what Ford did was explained to me but I forget to remember (if you know what I mean  ... gotta love that smilie)

something about aligning the bearing race and tightening in sequence all components from the hub back ...

now that I've sung it's praises .....wwrwrwrwrrwrwrwrrw iiitttlllbbbbbbaaaccckkk :smilielol:

Got DBA 4000 series slotted rotors on the front and Bendix Ultimate pads all around.

They have been great, no shudder through very hard braking. On the weekend and on the way to work just to test them out.

They are great with fade too. I thought they faded out on me once through a twisty road, but it was my imagination as the green spot was still green.

Didn't happen again.

I'd recommend them to every one.

Have any of you guys who had the shudder problems done more than say 5000 klms since changing to DBA rotors??

Al.

AL.

I have had the DBA slotted and crossed drilled rotors on now for a very pleasent 10000km until last month and the shudder is back.

Thanks ASNU. Have you had the fix yet? Mine gets the shudder every 3000-3500 klms with probably 65-35 city/highway. My beast is in today for the fix and the dealer tells me that they haven't had any come back yet after having it done... although posts on this site tell me otherwise!!

I'll let you know how it goes.

Hopefully there will be no more of this :bookworm:

Al.

No fix yet mate as to be quite honust dont no what to do now.I dont think different compound pads are going to help me much.I will see what happens when a few guys have put a few more km on there cars with the mods like mine then make a decision.I am sort of getting used to the problem now sorry to say.

Cro, did your car have any shudder problems previously?? Have you had 'the Ford fix'??

Cheers.

Al.

4 machine jobs and shudder appeared after driving home from the dealer.

No "permanent" fix.
