I had the brakes on for about 5 months before the mods I think. I've never tracked the car, but have done the odd high speed stop including at the drags (170 odd Kph stock) where the shudder really showed up! I wonder if I exceeded the temp range of the pads.

Certainly would like a set of Brembos though :)

Here's the big thread I was commenting in a coupe months ago which mentions the on car lathe and worn bushes! Worth a look. I certainly have worn bushes front and rear, just developed a big clunk as I take off even very slowly :/

I had break shudder, did bushes, rotors and hub... none of which fixed it turned out to be the rear rotors after all. Had the machined and bang no shudder any more.

MOney wise I wish I'd started with the rear rotors 1st!

I still have stock rear rotors, thanks for the tip!

Yep, I've done both front and rears with DBA4000 slotted rotors and RaceBrakes RB24 disc pads. I had bad brake shudder on the fronts when I first bought the car about 1 1/2 years ago. That went away after I upgraded the fronts. I was happy with them so I did the rears as well though I didn't need it - just felt it would be better to replace out the OEM brake rotor and pad setup. But they aren't a match for upgrading to something beefier like Brembos - know that because I couldn't keep up with Rudiger coming home from the Snowy Cruise - he can really boogie through the twisties :roflmbo:

mine is a bit strange with the shudder it only does it if I have been heave with the brakes it will shudder but after a while it disappears without doing anything to it its like it fixes itself dont know what rotors are on the car (presuming its from factory) but I know that I use bendix ultimate pads.

I don't know. Seriously lol. But I don't think it is the brakes ...per say. I think it is more to do with the soft squishy std bushes. On the control arms. I have read people going around and around with this brake issue. But they always get it back. Different pad, different rotors so forth. Do you all have the std bushes in ???

It's only a guess, as I said I don't know. But my Brembo's have 20,000k's on them. It has been flogged at the track and used as a daily all its life and I have never suffered from shudder. I do get a groan when I first hit them coming down the drive of a morning, but that is to be expected. The Std Brembo rotors are soft as butter.

But yeah they have never even vibrated the wheel.

Just a heads up, got new hub bearings fitted and braking is indeed much smoother, but the bushes are in dire need of replacing as well so shudder is still there. There was a grinding sensation under brakes which is gone now (the bearings) though I didn't know what to look for at the time.

im having the car put in for a new brake master cylinder on friday

I think this is the cause because when the car was on the hoist at the mechanics the brakes kept the front wheels from spinning freely

simply put I dont think the calipers are being relased fully as rotors are brand new will let yous know this weekend if this fix works
